To enter the city of Valencia, you have to pass through a medieval gate. There is a hole right above your head, they used it to do nasty things to unwanted visitors. However, nowadays the people here are nice and friendly and open-minded. Quite a few even asked me for a lend of money.
The city is beautiful. There are pines and planes and tangerines growing everywhere. The fruits are hanging right down. While watching them I was nearly smashed by a car, twice. There is also the big church. And, surprise, there is no river. They used to have a river during the Dark Ages, but then they piped it as they decided it was too muddy. Now they have a nice garden instead. Civilization brings smart solutions to many a problems of the humankind.
There are no public toilets anywhere to be seen either. I walked and walked and nearly disgraced myself. Finally I used a nice and cosy coffeeshop to pee. In the loos, they have two cubicles marked "for senores" and "for caballeros". I instantly realized I was a caballero. Travelling gives you opportunities to think who you are.
It is sunny but feels freezing, the thermometer says +10C. People wear clothes and girls do not converse with strangers. There are also dogs that look like spaniels but more leggy. They look undernorished but do not behave agressively. One licked my nose when I tried to talk to it. I guess it wanted some food. She was a bitch.
Now I am going to have a bite to eat and then I will walk in another direction to look at the Mediterranean Sea. They say there is a sandy beach. See you soon. Bye.
