I don't know if you're like me, but while there were some squeeable moments, there were some things that left me pretty sad, the biggest being the 8/28 date of the next release (the October Gold). *cries* BUT! we do get a new story in VF 4 being released in June^^, and an extra one in a booklet included in the Oct Gold on 8/28. ^__^ So two stories in August!

A fantastic summary and spoilers are behind the cut. The summary as always thanks to the wonderful mtarashidango, from pics by the lovely serena_daragon. In case we don't say it enough, Thank You you two. I don't know what we'd do without you. *hugs*

mtarashidango also gives an update on upcoming projects we'll be seeing, which explains how busy Yamane-sensei is right now in getting lots of new stuff to us over the summer, so we're just going to have to be patient even though it's really hard. Let's all cheer her on. ^__^




The new (short) chapter begins with Mikhail speaking to a man named Yuri about the former's failure to get ahold of the casino deed. Mikhail says that he merely wanted to pick at Baishe a little. Yuri doesn't understand how Mikhail keeps thinking of Fei Long when there are so many beautiful, worldclass Russian women around him - and expresses his weariness at getting involved in a feud with Baishe. Mikhail tells Yuri that regardless of how much he knows of the situation, he is not to get himself involved... it's rare for Fei Long to come out into the open. Yuri quietly thinks to himself that Mikhail's ways are weak as usual... when they do things it should always be perfect.

Yoh (speaking to Asami, presumably) says that he's being followed and that he cannot return to Baishe. Fei Long is onto something but it seems he will still go through with the exchange. Yoh says that he is going into hiding for a while and that he cannot protect Takaba anymore... and asks that nothing rash be done... and is cut off mid sentence as he's surrounded by men with guns.

Fei Long orders his men to make sure he (Yoh) talks. Takaba overhearing this, wonders what is going on. Fei Long tells him it's none of his business, then goes on to say that he doesn't want anymore of Takaba's crappy tea. Instead he tells Takaba to come closer. Pouting, Takaba says that he has nothing to do but make tea and clean up. Fei Long tells him that he has something to say - as they had discussed yesterday, Fei Long will exchange Takaba for the deed that Asami has.

Fei Long says that Asami is a foolish man - for going through danger to get the deed only to let it go, practically for free. That he only wants to get Akihito back. Takaba asks if the deed is really that valuable. Fei Long explains that the casino in Macao is on par with those in Las Vagas - that is how much profit it is thought to bring.

At the moment, the Macao casino's rights are split into 3 in order to prevent war betwen the organizations that seek to profit from it. The deed is one of those 3 - and while the deed itself is merely a symbol of proof, there are many who wish to have a piece of that enormous business.

Fei Long says that he will not let Asami order him around - the exchange will be made on his terms and on his grounds. At the moment, Hong Kong has laws to prevent casino businesses, but there are many ways to do things under the table

For example... to use a (cruise) ship and sail out beyond the borders and run the casino from there. On a ship, there is no way to escape... what will Asami do then? Takaba, hearing this begs Fei Long not to cause anymore bloodshed. Fei Long asks if he is worried about Asami. Takaba wonders what happened to Asami after he was shot - that his wounds probably have not healed... Will Asami really come for him despite the injuries? Will Asami go that far for him? If Asami really did get a hold of a deed as valuable as Fei Long says, will he exchange something like that for him? Asami has saved him many times before... but they were all to benefit himself....

Takaba then begins to wonder what is really between Asami and Fei Long. What does Fei Long really think about Asami.... what does Asami really think about Fei Long... and what is he, himself, within all this. Asami did hold him...but beyond the physical connection, Takaba has a feeling that there may be nothing else... Takaba refuses to merely become some man's property. But he wishes he knew more about who Asami is... he had been running from him...treated badly and turned away from him... Takaba thought he knew Asami, but in reality didn't know him at all. "I want to know more... I want to help Asami... I want to go home to Japan..."

Fei Long, watching Takaba, tells him that his expression is annoying him. That he should have taken more time to 'take him away' (from Asami). "If it were you... I thought I could keep you near and love you" Takaba tells Fei that he's not some quiet cat - and that Fei was the one that said that there is no such thing as love between two men. Fei long merely says that it may exist...and it may not... and that just because he says it doesn't exist, there is no way to hold back the feelings that boil up unconsciously. Takaba again begs Fei not to have a shootout against Asami as before, to which Fei replies that it is not something Akihito needs to worry about.

Tending to Asami's wounds, the bodyguard says that it is still too much for Asami. Since they don't know how Fei Long will move, it is better for Asami to let his men handle the situation. Ignoring his subordinate's offer, Asami moves on. Asami thinks to himself - he needs to see with his own eyes... if those stubborn eyes have been harmed and the strength lost... He will not let anyone else change Takaba.... he is his and his alone. Takaba will finally be back in his arms... since he's lost contact with Yoh, he must get a hold of Fei Long quickly... quickly, while Takaba is still unharmed.... Realizing that he is actually losing his cool, Asami quietly smiles to himself... Handing over his cane to his bodyguard, Asami vows to himself.... that no matter what he has to do.... he will get Akihito back.

This is news info that's listed on the chapter cover from mtarashidango (thanks again!):

The new volume (Due out June 8th, 2007 and named "Finder no Roshuu" (<--I'm not 100% sure that's how you read it. I can't for the life of me, find the kanji in any dictionary I have except to tell me that the first kanji can be read as "ro" but in other words it's along the lines of "captured" "imprisoned" I will get back to you as soon as I can figure out WTF it actually means and how the f**k it's actually read... as you can see, it's pissing me off to now be able to find it... -_-;) Anyhoo, it's supposed to have an 'extra'"Story Sequel" in the volume (don't know what that exactly means as of yet, but it sounds like something new and not LPII as we first thought). There will also be a send-in service for readers where you can get a special collection of rough sketches or something like that - when this is released.

In the October Issue of GOLD (i.e. the one in August) there will also be an extra booklet that has a detailed report about the "Hong Kong" tour from January. It's also said that there will be an extra manga in this booklet as well.

The news doesn't list anything about the fanbook that was supposed to be simultaniously released with the new volume. I'm not sure what's going on with this.

- Akihito thinking of Asami.
- Asami thinking of Akihito and giving up his cane and vowing to get Akihito back was just Mmmmmmmm.

Things that were interesting:
- Mikhail's new look *grin* and the glimpse of his organization
- Feilong's speech about Asami

Things that were really sad:
- No Asami / Akihito meeting :( After the buildup from the cover, that was really disappointing
- YOH!! Oh that poor guy is in trouble now.
- 8/28 *still crying*

Things that were really exciting!
New side stories, coming in the VF4 and CS2 tankoubons!
A new story in a fanbook that will be in the October Gold released in August!
Yay!


About this chapter, I think that Feilong is up to no good, and that half the stuff coming out of his mouth isn't to be trusted. I think he's going to try to double cross Asami somehow. And Akihito will be caught in the middle of it. *sigh*
