Вроде знаю этот стишок практически с самого рождения Митяя, а вот то, что это аналог русских "ладушек" узнала совсем недавно. А с самыми маленькими можно играть так:

Sit so the baby is facing you, either lying, sitting, propped up....
Hold his/her hands by the wrist and palms facing eachother.....
Clap the baby's hands together while you sing
"Pat-a-cake, pat-a-cake, baker's man"
"Bake me a cake as fast as you can"
You roll the baby's hands in circles while you say
"You roll it,"
You pat the baby's palms on his/her lap while you say
"You pat it,"
You move the baby's hands to shape a "B" in the air
"You mark it with a "B"",
You turn the baby's hands palm up and move them back and forth away from the body and say
"And put it in the oven for baby and me!"

An alternative rendition has the third line as follows:
Pat it and prick it and mark it with "B"
In this version the child pats, then "pricks" the palm with a finger, then draws a "B" on the palm.
