На примере двусложного слова «bhoga», необходимо отметить такое нечастое фонетическое явление как сдвиг конечного гласного первого слова «a > o» при случении его со вторым словом, как то: «yazas (glory) > yazodhāman (site or adobe of glory)» - «mahas (might) > mahodaya (great fortune or prosperity)» - «manas (thought) > manojava (the speed or swiftness of thought)» - «medas (lymph) > medoja (produced by medas)» - «vedas (knowledge) > vedodaya (origin of the veda)» - «ojas (power) > ojodā (granting power)» - «tejas (light) > tejorāzi (mass of splendour)» - «tapas (religious austeryti) > tapobala (the power acquired by religious austerities)» - «rahas (a secret) > rahogata (secret)» - «ayas (iron) > ayomala (rust)» - «uṣas (light) > uṣorāga (morning light) - «rādhas (favour) > rādhodeya (bestowal of gifts or favour) - «uras (breast) > uroja (breast)» - «saras (water) > saroruh (lotus)» - «pāthas (water) > pāthoja (lotus)» - «kazas (water) > kazojū (hastening to the water)» - «cetas (mind) > cetovikāra (disturbance of mind)» - «vāsas (a garment) > vāsoyuga (a pair of garments)» - «vacas (voise) > vacohara ("receiver of words", a messenger)» - «puras (ind. first) > purogava (a leader)» - «tatas (from that) > tatonidāna (caused by that)» - «itas (from that) > itogata (from hence)». Как видим, в данной семантической паре отсутствует формант «s»: «ratha (chariot) > rathodhava (chariots horse)». Однако же, оный формант «s» наблюдается в слове «rathaspati ("lord of chariots", a deity presiding over chariots)», рядом с которым в словаре Уильямса стоит пометка - probl.
Переклады: sun - солнце, light - свет, shine - свет, сияние, блеск, глянец, lustre - блеск, сияние, глянец, glitter - блеск, сверкание, ray - луч, beam - сияние, луч, splendour - блеск, brightness - яркость, happiness - счастье, welfare - благосостояние, благополучие, prosperity - благосостояние, процветание. to light - светить, to shine - светить, сиять, блестеть, to glitter - сверкать, блестеть, to beam - сиять, излучать.
