Called one of Norways foremost musicians - with an unique sound, he has acclaimed prizes and awards for his groundbreaking work with Norwegian folk music as a source of inspiration. He often uses Norwegian traditional music as a starting point for his own compositions, improvisations, poetry.

He has been collaborating with many of the foremost musicians, writers, painters, film-makers, dancers/coreographers in Norway, and have ongoing projects with performers from different countries like Portugal, Pakistan and Bulgaria and others.
