Hello everyone!! So very sorry for being absent for so long but health issues have been keeping me from knitting, crocheting or anything much at all. I have 3 severe illnesses and at different times they individually or together at times stop me for long periods of time being able to do very much.

Anyway lets talk about more happier things. For a change Scotland is having a good summer, so everyone is happier and more relaxed. Also the Commonwealth Games are in Scotland shortly, so people are getting excited about that. The Edinburgh Fringe Festival starts at the begining of August for nearly the whole month and everyone loves it because there is something for everyone and people come from all over the World to perform or just to see what it is like.performers are a mixture of well known acts and complete novices. Edinburgh comes alive and the capital is buzzing with excitement with 'live' entertainment on the street everywhere, plays, commedians, people coming from many different countries putting on a variety of productions in all sorts of different venues!! Most of the street performers are usually showing you a preview of their 'show' that they are actually performing in a venue later on that day or night. So therefore you get a chance to see parts of musicals, plays, dance productions etc. A lot of the street performers put on full perormances as they do not have actual venues, so they move about the city and this gives you a chance to view a huge variety of acts, its simply fantastic. Also every night in the grounds of Edinburgh Castle there is the Tattoo and at the end of the Festival there s the Grand Tattoo, it is very hard to get tickets to actually go to it most of the tickets have been bought the year before the next one. The Grand Festival has the largest display of acts from all over the world, it is televised as it is so entertaining and at the end of it Edinburgh Castle is lit up by a giant firework display.

Also in Edinburgh there is a street called 'Princess Street' (famous for shopping), the walk-way (pavement) is always hectic in the summer with shoppers and opposite side of the street, below, there is Princess Street Gardens where squirrels are waiting on you to feed them. There is a large Band Stand where Music is performed day and night throught out the summer. It is usually free and there is lots of benches formed in semi-circles to sit and watch the Bands. There is also seating all along the Gardens for you to sit and take a rest, which we all need sometime!!! Tomorrow l will hopefully bring you all some great pictures of Edinburgh and the Festival...
