Misha and I went to my niece’s birthday yesterday. It was an interesting collection of people. Her friends, who are in college and my cousin’s (her mother) friends, who are in their 30’s. And Misha and I. It was a bit weird for us because we didn’t feel that we belong in either group. Sitting in the middle, between the two groups only intensified their differences. We could technically find something to talk about with either demographic, but given our location at the table it was tough to choose one and stick to it.
The whole thing got me so confused that I forgot to leave my cousin money for the dinner. Now I have to stop by this week, or they’ll think I’m a complete cheapo.
