Last week and during the first half of this one, I was convinced that I really want to do a Ph.D. in Russian Lit. But then yesterday I was watching Euro News and thinking how cool it would be to be involved in international economics/business. So now I'm completely confused as to which way to point my career radar. On one hand it's probably easier to get into a Ph.D. program and it's free plus you get a stipend. On the other hand it's at least 5 years. A masters in international econ is only 2 years, will most likely pay a lot more afterward but is harder to get and will cost close to $60,000. Considering we now already have almost $100K in student loans, I feel guilty adding another $50-60K to that amount.
