Stage and film actor and producer Scot Williams was born November 29, 1972 in Liverpool, England. He made his film debut in the Beatles biographical movie, Backbeat, in which he played the fab four’s early drummer, Pete Best. Soon after, he found out that he was related to Alun Owen, 1965 Oscar nominated writer of A Hard Day’s Night. Fortunately, they were able to touch base with each other for the first time, weeks before Owen died in 1994.

After earning recognition in Backbeat, Scot Williams obtained a number of noteworthy roles. He played the lead in the Jonathan Harvey play Rupert Street Lonely Hearts Club, which premiered at the Donmar Warehouse in London before transferring to The Criterion Theatre in Piccadilly. Williams was next seen on many TV productions, such as The Golden Collar in 1995, Bliss and the 1996 drama Hillsborough. The film was written by Jimmy McGovern, and won the 1997 Best Single Drama Award from the BAFTA. The actor’s career continued to flourish, as he landed roles in episodes of Heartbeat, Soldier Soldier, Liverpool 1 and Lock, Stock…He was also seen on Where the Heart Is in 2001, and played the character Neil Jones on Nice Guy Eddie. He reprised his role of Pete Best in the TV production of In His Life: The John Lennon Story, and was given parts in Helen West, Murder in Mind and Serious and Organised. In 2004, he was featured in a series of films by Peter Greenaway, a trilogy called The Tulse Luper Suitcases. Its first part, “The Moab Story,” was an official selection for the Palm D’or at the Cannes Film Festival. Williams also took on a role in the drama Casualty in 2006, before joining the cast of the series Meadowlands as professional golfer Tom Tyrell. He was also seen on Lilies, portraying the character Father Melia. In 2008, Williams landed the part of Sparky in the crime comedy film Clubbed. He is also known for being a company director of A Bard Day’s Night Ltd. and is a co-writer for the stage musical titled A Bard Day’s Night.
