Novels, short stories, horror, action, science fiction – those are all the genres of the old times. Forget it. Now, blog is one of the leading genres.
Even though blog can later be divided into several different genres of it’s own. There are people just like me and you or any other gray mouse of the world who keep a blog. There are also celebrity blogs, blogs dedicated to a specific topic, . The list can go on and on and on. But what is the common thing about all the blogs? Blogs are designed for people to share their experiences and points of view with the rest of the world.
My blog, for example contains just regular descriptions of my day, just like a diary. One might also find such things as descriptions of my thought processes about different situations, pieces of news and so on. I format it whichever way I want, not all of it is even written in the same language. My blog would not be interesting to that many people – mostly just my friends and people who think a lot alike with me.
A celebrity blog would usually include some news about what celebrities are doing right now and what they are going to do in the future, and a lot of gossip. Who is dating who and what of scandal is arising from whose DUI are at the center of attention and are the most important things about those blogs. The language those blogs use are usually simplistic, but descriptive. Those types of blogs are centered on details. People, who read those blogs usually fall under a classification of bored housewives and other celebrities.
Blogs dedicated to a specific topic is a completely different story. There are blogs dedicated to just about anything in the world: make up, comic strips, Harry Potter, erotic stories, pornography, shoes, hot dogs, and so on. Those blogs are language specific to their topic. The readers of those blogs generally wouldn’t be very diverse: strictly just the people who are interested in such things.
Blog is a quickly developing genre, but cannot be identified as just one genre – it is a mix of everything and everything depends on what is the goal of that blog: to chatter, to inform, or to gossip.
