В колонках играет - Zombie Girl - Creepy CrawlerZOMBIE GIRL is the new exciting and terrific band of the famous Sebastian R. Komor (ICON OF COIL, BRUDERSCHAFT, MOONITOR, MONOFADER, MUSCLE AND HATE) with his wife Renee Cooper-Komor as the alluring and bewitching vocalist.
Renee: In 2001 I went to an IOC show (they were touring with VNV) and Seb and I started talking in emails, long msn chats online, phone calls and just fell in love pretty fast and deeply. Then we got together when ever we could. Does long distance love ever work out? Well, we will be celebrating our 2 year wedding anniversary this October

what's it like working on music together with your spouse?
Seb: It's a lot of fun. There is that connection you wouldnt have otherwise. Of course being all pro sometimes can be a blur haha, but it's all good, we have fun, Renee really enjoys singing. And I enjoy recording her. I like to schedual vocal takes around right after shower time tho [показать].
Renee: I really enjoy it. One more thing we have in common and it's the perfect match. I'm a singer and Seb is a producer/musician. Lots of fun can be had in the studio [показать]
[показать] the zombie theme is pretty cool, whose idea was it?
Seb: I would have to say both. I kinda threw the idea in the air and Renee was totally into doing that, as we both dig horror and zombie movies, it felt like the right direction to go. Renee has the natural abilities to be a sexy zombie wondering the earth for brains and flesh. She is a fragile creature you know, she just has this deep and dark need she cant control.
Renee: Yes and I crave fresh blood and flesh. Am I joking? Find out tonight. I'll meet you in the deserted parking lot, you know, the one with only one light at the far end....where will I be? Don't worry, I'll find you.
who does the zombie makeup?
Seb: Makeup? It's the real thing. haha, well, for the photos we had a friend of ours here in Edmonton doing it for the Halloween show we did. His plans is to be become a movie make up artist so it turned out sweet. Make up is an important part of the whole thing for Zombie Girl, and sure is fun to. Well except the two hours you have to spend in the shower to get it off later.. whoa.
Renee: We do, but yeah a friend of ours named Shane in Edmonton, did our first make up and basically we learned from him and online in tutorials.
what's planned next after your first EP? we want more!
Seb: We are already working on the full lenght album to be released later this year, which will be 99% all new tracks, including some bonues features as well. I just finished a couple of remixes under Zombie Girl. One for KMFDM, the track "You're No Good" which would have made it their Ruck Zuck EP if it was done 6 weeks earlier, but still will be available online when Ruck Zuck comes out. And also did a remix for Implant for their new EP, the track "Fading Away", which will also become a Zombie Girl track for the ZG album, just with changed lyrics and based on the remix. Hopefully there will be some demand to see Zombie Girl live, so we can spread some bloodfest and horror live.
[показать] you seem to have created a lot of buzz about the band even before officially releasing an album. how has the overall reaction been?
Renee: A buzz? I guess we are zom-bees then ? Hahaha! Zom Bee get it? Buzz? Buzz? Zom Bee? :/
Seb: Yeah it seems Zombie Girl's generated some fine buzzes around. People have been saying the nicest things really, exept the haters of course, but when did they ever have anything good to say anyways? We've been getting messages from DJ's all over the place claiming the Zombie Girl tunes are clubfillers, which is great to hear, specially considering at that point there were no releases out yet.
to Sebastian: does Zombie Girl mark the end of Icon of Coil? Any current plans for IOC?
Seb: I dont believe so. I know there are lots of rumours hoovering the grounds about IOC, some of them are true and some of them are absolut nonsence. With Zombie Girl my creativity has been given winds again to explore music, as with IOC things seemed to be forced into a stable, and that stable needs to be demolished. There are no current plans on ending IOC, neither of releasing a new album..yet.
