I startle when I see Jonna Nygren. I have met her boyfriend many times before and there are so many similarities in Jonna's appearance that remind me of Ville. The famous politenes and positive attitude.

Jonna is very careful about her public image these days. She has been hosting music programs on television for years now, even before meeting her current partner. First on Moon TV then on Sub-TV. Her current show Sessions is running on Sub-TV almost daily.

Jonna has also been working as a waitress in a restaurant Tori in Helsinki ans she still occationally helps around in there.

Before we meet, Jonna has taken her daily walk in the centre of Helsinki, a route that goes from Lapinlahti hospital to Kaivopuisto.
The bright fall morning has blinded her mind as well.

"Beautiful start for the day. I usually wake up around nine and go for a walk. Every day is a wonderful challenge"

Why should people sleep 'till afternoon. Rock'n roll life is not just cliches, and therefore her partner has started to wake up earlier too.

Eight years ago Jonna moved from Jyväskylä To Helsinki. "I came here to spend a weekend and stayed. I started studying in evening school, worked in a shop tselling clothes, danced in Step Up group that is run by Marko Bjurtsröm.

Now Jonna is better known. She , however, reminds that she started working on Moon TV in 2000 and got the job on her own. Her current relationship only started a year ago.

People often come to talk to Jonna in restaurants. "the feedback is usually quite positive. No one has been aggressive so far."

On the internet some of the comments can be quite nasty but Jonna doesn't let them bother herself. Her mind is at peace.

"I spend 15 minutes in silence every single day. I just relax and calm down and forget the hectic life. It is very important to me emotionally. It's easy for me to draw to myself. I have been practicing this as long as I can remember".

"Before I go to sleep I practise yoga because it's difficult for me to fall asleep.
I wake up even to the smallest sound and when I wake up, I can't fall back to sleep again.
I often sleep only 4 hours".

Jonna says she is a person who spends a lot of time thinking. She twists and turns thoughts in her mind until she can se all sides of it. That's why 15 minutes of quiet time is important to her.

"I also go to Jyväskylä to catch some breath. I like the little town atmosphere. My dad and my grandma are there too. I never party in Jyväskylä, I jsut read, watch TV and eat traditional finnish dishes."

"But I could never live in Jyväskylä anymore. On sunday I already start yearning to get back to Helsinki. Helsinki is a wonderful city. The truth is that it's the only place in Finland where you can feel some big city vibes. You can go anywhere with only your thoughts as company, but you always know where to find more company. The sounds of the city make you feel safe in a way."

Jonna is not really a party animal. She likes to party, but only occationally and even after a night of partying she wakes up at nine in the morning.

Years ago Jonna decided to become a dancer. But:
"I trained too hard. I should have danced only when I felt like it. Now yoga is more important to me."

Jonna is 25 years old. She doesn't build fancy fantasies anymore, but who says one should give one's dreams.

"My biggest and only dream is to have a lot of children. I wan't and I'm going to have a lot of children! Maybe not just yet, but before I turn 30. Anything else I do in my life doesn't matter as much. It all comes down to having priorities."

Inspite of being close to heavy metal, Jonna doesn't dress in black or paint her face white. There is no pain lingering in the air.

"My friends always laugh at me because I don't even recognise songs by HIM. We dont listen to HIM at home. If there is onbe music genre I really love then it's reggae. It makes me feel so good."

Jonna doesn't consider herself to be a celebrity, but there are some limits in what she can do now. "I can't argue publicly anymore" she laughs.

She's going to stay being herself. There are no problems. She seems amazingly problem-free in every way.
