I can ride a horse. I can ride a horse with a saddle. I prefer the English saddle. But this Sunday we were training the trot without a saddle on the racing track. The trainer said: "It's a big difference", and that's it - when it is considered that I did the trot without a saddle for the first time. Just I tried the gallop without stirrups.
If you trot in the saddle you have to do the following:
- cling to the horse by your hips and other top parts of legs;
- dont't touch a horses sides except for speeding-up;
- lighten.
At the same time the upper part of your body has to do itself deals irrespective of the bottom part, e.g.:
- hold a straight back;
- avoid branches of trees;
- see extensively;
- keep a short rein;
- enjoy.
You can increase the speed more and more... The long trot is one of the closest approaches to flight on Earth.
But if you make the trot without a saddle you have to relax the legs and to keep balance by your back. The racing track was very small and very unshaped. I could keep the balance by my back because I could make the sitting trot. But unexpected the border involved my habitual reflex - and I pressed my knees therefore the horse accelerated therefore I losed the balance therefore I pressed my knees more and more therefore she accelerated more... I cried "Whooou! Stop!" And we stopped, panted and tried again.
Today I have a leg ache.
Of course - this is the other kind of control.
