How the Soviet Union saved Arnold Lockshin's life... (10)
/11/ Nurturing the “prize” until the appropriate moment... The United States Gestapo always had a free hand to do whatever they pleased to me – or against any American citizen with progressive ideals. My murder at an early – or even not-so-early – age would have caused no public consternation whatsoever. And it would have saved the secret political police considerable money ($millions have been spent on the anti-Lockshin venture) and freed up manpower for other abominable tasks. Even the extreme nastiness and terror I experience in Houston, Texas in 1986 was not aimed at killing me – yet.
What saved Arnold Lockshin was the Soviet Union.
If in 1986 I had not opted to flee the “land of the free” for the Soviet Union, then I would certainly have been killed. The U.S. Gestapo would have had no use for me; my murder would have saved them money and manpower. Additionally, my assassination would have eliminated a potential threat to the evil and vicious imperialist system – however remote that threat may have actually been. To eliminate any genuine (as opposed to mountains of fake) opposition within America; that, after all, is why the Ferguson, Missouri activists were brutally liquidated by the U.S. secret political police. There can be no doubt that my “escape” to the USSR was a personal lifesaver – even though that flight was precisely what the American fascists had planned and organized!
But the existence of the Soviet Union saved my life long before my physical flight to that country in 1986. To understand that – and the whole purpose of the U.S. secret political campaign against (and sometimes, even “for”) me, we need to retrace certain realities that go well beyond the life and times or a single individual.
U.S.- led attempts to destroy the first land of socialism: The imperialist world was dead set against the Soviet Union from the very beginning and sought every possible opportunity to destroy it. Anything and everything aimed at its destruction of the USSR was in play. Including massive military invention following the successful Bolshevik revolution in late 1917. Including organizing massive sabotage directed against the Soviet Union's vital economic programs and concocting a campaign of mass terror (see my series Империализм: Генератор «Сталинских Репрессий»). Including sponsoring, abetting and inciting the Nazi regime in Germany and other fascist-dominated countries to murderously attack the USSR (see my series Америка и Фашизм). Including then instigating the “cold war” and threatening the country with nuclear extinction. One need only consider the pernicious present-day US imperialist economic attacks against Syria, Iran and Venezuela to get a taste of what the imperialist world undertook against the USSR.
The imperialist-directed assault also featured massive infiltration and recruitment of imperialist agents within the Soviet government to erode and eventually destroy the country from within (see Империализм: Генератор «Сталинских Репрессий»). Of special importance was the imperialist-agent takeover of the Soviet secret services, which was finally accomplished by 1934 and extended throughout the remaining years of the USSR - and which continues today with the Russian FSB.
Arnold Lockshin as a hapless pawn. So where did I come in?
Following Joseph Stalin's death in 1953, imperialist agents were in firm control of the Soviet Union and the Soviet Communist Party. And the mass media, of course. But the great bulk of the Soviet people were patriots who would not countenance the destruction of the socialist system. It took nearly 40 years after Stalin's death for imperialism and its massive agent network to finally destroy the Soviet Union. The destruction of socialism brought about – as fully expected by the West – mass impoverishment of the working population and a huge increase in mortality.
Notwithstanding widespread popular opposition, with such massive control of the Soviet government, Party, mass media, etc., imperialism and its subversive agencies (CIA et al.) had every reason to be confident that the USSR was ultimately and inevitably doomed. They were right.
Rat Gorbachev's (actually, the CIA's) “perestroika” was the final stage of the impending counter-revolution. But how to bring the Soviet people along? And how to facilitate their tolerance of the economic disaster that was sure to follow? How to manufacture and sustain a favorable image of the United States throughout this counterrevolutionary assault and its aftermath? How to promote US-led imperialist plunder of the vast wealth of the former socialist land?
The Lockshin ploy was designed as a major psychological warfare maneuver to enhance popular acceptance of the Soviet Union's demise and the inevitable economic disaster that would follow.

At least 52 people were shot and 10 killed in Chicago's most violent weekend so far this year, leading police Superintendent Eddie Johnson on Monday to declare the bloodshed a "despicable level of violence."
At a news conference, Johnson described how police were within blocks of some of the shootings — one commander in the Austin neighborhood was only a half-block away — and how "emboldened some of these individuals are" who opened fire.
Police attributed the majority of the gun violence to gangs, and Johnson ordered targeted patrols in areas where retaliation is likely to occur, including the West Side and the South Side districts.
In total, 92 firearms were seized since Friday, he added, "nearly double the amount of guns that we take in during a particular weekend." As of Monday morning, police did not make arrests in connection with the homicides.
Four men were shot near Northwestern University's campus on the Near North Side in two separate incidents Saturday. In the first shooting, two of the victims heard shots and saw several cars fleeing the scene when they were hit. In the other, two men were shot while driving, and flagged down an ambulance for help.
In another incident Saturday night, four people in the South Austin neighborhood were hit by gunfire from across the street. Three of the victims were teenagers and one of them was in critical condition.
Many of the shootings occurred on streets as people were standing on corners or sitting in front of their homes or driving when an assailant suddenly opened fire.
The bloody weekend eclipses the Memorial Day holiday weekend, when at least 33 people were wounded and seven killed. But with the summer approaching, Johnson said he's worried that the "proliferation of guns on the streets of Chicago" could lead to more violence.

В США анонсировали план экономической дестабилизации России

План экономической войны против России опубликовала американская корпорация Rand.
В плане содержатся рекомендации для правительства США по «ненасильственной дестабилизации России». Этого можно достичь, нанеся удар по экспортным доходам России. Основной упор необходимо сделать на международном рынке энергоносителей, говорится в докладе. Для этого правительству США рекомендуется наращивать производство энергии внутри страны. Также у европейских стран должно быть больше возможностей для получения нефти и СПГ из других стран.
Вторым по важности направлением - расширение санкций в отношении России. Для повышения их эффективности необходимо добиться, чтобы к ним присоединились как можно больше других государств.
Напомним, санкции против России были введены после воссоединения с Крымом в 2014 году. С этого момента они расширяются и носят все более откровенный экономический характер. Касательно поставок российских энергоресурсов в ЕС, политики США неоднократно прямо заявляли, что Россия не имеет права поставлять газ по строящемуся трубопроводу «Северный поток-2», так как, по их мнению, это позволит Москве оказывать политическое давление на Европу.

В США анонсировали план экономической дестабилизации России

План экономической войны против России опубликовала американская корпорация Rand.
В плане содержатся рекомендации для правительства США по «ненасильственной дестабилизации России». Этого можно достичь, нанеся удар по экспортным доходам России. /8/ A “communist” party organizer. In earlier posts I have described my gut-wrenching but eye-opening experiences in the so-called “Communist Party USA” and I see no reason to repeat all this here. It took me several years to discover that this “party” was nothing more than a cesspool of slimy CIA/FBI agents.
All that time spent was far from lost. My partial illusions about American “democracy” had experienced a sharp jolt of reality when it became evident that US imperialism would go to enormous lengths to organize, man and finance on a permanent basis a totally bogus group of disgusting scum. And the phony-as-a-$93-U.S.-bill “CP USA”was only one of many such bogus rat-fink conglomerations.
If I had not joined the “Party” and become an organizer, it is doubtful that I could have understood the essence and modus operandi of the police state dictatorship that is the real USA.
/9/ How terrible things could have been for Arnold Lockshin. Once my revolutionary convictions were set and irreversible, the US political police could have murdered me at any time. No problem, no questions asked.
Short of outright murder, the American Gestapo could have driven me to utter frustration bordering on despair. The pigs could have quite easily driven me into near-total isolation (my Mother was still alive). They could have easily blocked my return to science in Harvard and made me totally “unemployable”. For instance, a simple pig warning visit to Bogorad (who, in any case, was also collaborating with the swine) would have been sufficient to completely deny my reentry to scientific research.
The US-nazi bastards could have blocked any and all my associations with the female sex (I know now that in fact they circumscribed my relations with most young women that I was attracted to). Instead, they provided me with a “wife”.
Even after I had been a “CP” organizer for several years, it appeared that I was still not a total pariah. In 1977, a position in cancer research was opened for me at the University of Southern California – thanks to the “good offices” of the US secret political police. Peter Danenberg, who headed up that lab at USC, would have – and of course did - anything the Gestapo pigs told him to do.
Then, for a few years, the Lockshin “family” lived for a reasonably comfortable life (mid-1980 through 1985) in Houston, Texas. We had our own comfortable home and two cars, we took vacations and ate out 2 or 3 times a month, etc. There was no question that “we” - actually only me – were constantly under observation, with only occasional signs of direct interference or harassment.
So where was the heavy-handed persecution??
/10/ The apparent good times were only temporary. My partial illusions took a solid jolt at the very beginning of 1986, when the American Gestapo unfolded a non-stop campaign of harassment and terror, which forced us – meaning me – to get the hell out of the country. In Houston, I did not yet know the purpose of these fiendish attacks, but I immediately knew who was behind them. These events are described in “Silent Terror” and will not be repeated here.
So what was the whole Lockshin saga about?

Украинские неонацисты завалили памятник Жукову в Харькове...

Неонацисты устроили беспорядки и снесли памятник маршалу Жукову в Харькове.
Как стало известно, стражи правопорядка не пытались вмешаться в происходящее, однако, когда беспорядки получили активное развитие, на место прибыл еще один наряд полиции. Правоохранители защищали целостность бюста, но столкнувшись с сопротивлением в виде газовых баллонов, отошли в сторону.
Завал памятника Жукову был осуществлен неонацистами около 13:40.
Напомним, 2 июня в 14:00 в Харькове стартовал съезд партии мэра города Геннадия Кернеса «Доверяй делам». Он неоднократно выступал в защиту монумента, возведенного в честь советского маршала. В частности, в минувшем году украинские неонацисты снесли памятник Жукову, а после указания Кернеса его восстановили городские службы.
Кроме того, 9 мая 2019 года мэр Харькова выступил за возвращение имени Жукова станции метрополитена города и проспекту....

Неонацисты устроили беспорядки и снесли памятник маршалу Жукову в Харькове.

Automakers can’t help but acknowledge the global recession in their industry. They are slashing payroll across the board. Countries like China, the United Kingdom, Germany, Canada and the United States have all seen at least 38,000 job cuts over the last six months in the automotive sector. And this could just be the beginning of larger cuts to come.
Daimler CEO Dieter Zetsche said Wednesday that "sweeping cost reductions" are ahead to prepare for what he is calling "unprecedented" industry disruption.
Bank of America Merrill Lynch analyst John Murphy said: “The industry is right now staring down the barrel of what we think is going to be a significant downturn. The pace of decline in China is a real surprise.”
Automakers are cutting shifts and closing factories across the world but the cost cutting goes beyond that. Salaried workers are also being cut, a surefire sign that slowing sales in both China and the US are taking their toll. Additionally, the slow down is coming at a time when automakers have deployed significant capital to invest in electric vehicles.
Ford plans to cut another 7000 jobs, representing 10% of its workforce worldwide. And the recession, which was likely due to happen regardless of market conditions, comes at the worst possible time. It could be exacerbated by the ongoing trade war, which foreign carmakers have warned could put 700,000 American jobs at risk.
Meanwhile, global light vehicle sales were down 0.5% in 2018 to 94.8 million, which was the first annual drop in global sales since 2009. Everything is under scrutiny.

Американская газета The Washington Post подсчитала количество лживых заявлений президента США Дональда Трампа.
Как сообщает издание, за два года своего президентства с 2017 года, Трамп сделал более 10 тыс. ложных заявлений.
Если ранее лидер США делал около 5 ложных заявлений, то за последние несколько месяцев эта цифра увеличилась до 23.
Трамп, как отмечает издание, все чаще стал выступать с утверждениями, не соответствующими действительности, на митингах или на встречах с представителями СМИ.
Помимо этого в издании отметили, что Трамп, выступающий против «фейковых новостей», сам склонен к ложным заявлениям.

/3/ Give Lockshin enough rope for him to hang himself. The five years I spent as a graduate student at the University of Wisconsin Madison were – except for my early childhood – my best years in the United States. Or so it seemed.
I was – like almost all honest Americans – naive about the machinations of the omnipresent U.S. lie, spy, criminal, provocation, subversion and regime change, terror, drug-runnning, torture, war and mass murder apparatus. I did not know that the spy setup organized against me in Madison also included my major professor in the Department of Biochemistry and all my lab-mates, my roommates, the Green Lantern Co-op where I took most of my meals, presumed “comrades” in anti-Vietnam war protests, etc.
It appeared that I had free rein and that somehow American “democracy” was sort of alive and well, at least as far as I was personally concerned. I was even elected graduate representative for the UW student council, was able to publish several articles in the student newspaper, The Daily Cardinal, and even get some letters to the editor published in the Madison press.
My relatively easy time in Madison let me combine training as a research scientist with vigorous participation in progressive politics – mainly organizing opposition to the fearsome U.S. war against the Vietnamese and other Indochinese peoples. I also took the lead in catalyzing the largest civil rights demonstration at the time in Madison, where the Rev. James Shuttlesworth, a close associate of Martin Luther King, was the main speaker.
/4/ Becoming a “real” professional revolutionary. As I was getting close to concluding my graduate research and attaining my Ph.D. degree, Frank Wilkinson came to Madison and implored me to join his National Committee to Abolish HUAC (the U.S. House of Representatives UnAmerican Activities Committee) and become the director of a projected New England office. At the time, I saw Wilkinson as a brave fighter for justice, when in fact he was a rotten fink like virtually all the other full time “progressives” and “revolutionaries” I ran into. I was flattered to be asked and saw this as an opportunity for me to become deeply involved in what I thought was “real politics.” I abandoned my scientific career (temporarily as it turned out) and moved to Cambridge, Massachusetts to open a small office there (late 1965 to mid-late 1967).
My acceptance of full time movement activism meant for the FBI-US Gestapo that I could be used in any way they saw fit; no holds barred. I was fair game and unsuspecting.
My apparent success in anti-HUAC endeavors was considerable, as “I” was able to organize hundreds of law professors and then hundreds of Catholic priests to publicly call for the abolition of HUAC. In fact, as I know now, it was the U.S. secret political police who facilitated these successes (see previous material in these posts). With the rise of the civil rights and anti-war movements, HUAC was becoming an anachronism and was on its way out anyhow.
While in the Boston-Cambridge area, I was “accepted” as a member of the “Communist Party USA” - only after I asked to join (rather than having been actively recruited). Another confirmation of my convictions. Very naive Arnold thought that he had found his genuine political home with like-minded “comrades”. Naturally, all this was a filthy farce.
At the instigation of my “comrades,” I left the largely redundant anti-HUAC business and spent a largely wasted year “organizing” a so-called peace coalition called “PACEM”, which in fact was nothing more than a unproductive diversion from the established peace movement “Massachusetts PAX” (nonetheless, also filled with finks).
/5/ “Love” comes into my life. At about this time, Lauren Brown – whom I had “met” (an arranged meeting, as described earlier) in the summer of 1967 – on her volition moved to the Cambridge area to be closer to me. She was pretty, apparently affectionate and shared, as I was led to believe, my values. For several months we lived together in a dilapidated apartment in Somersville, just outside of Cambridge and within walking distance of Harvard University. Then I proposed marriage.
/6/ Back to science – no problem. PACEM was going nowhere, and I had to find real work. In the fall of 1968 I phoned Dr. Lawrence Bogorad, who had earlier offered me a post-doctoral position in his laboratory at the University of Chicago. Bogorad had moved to Harvard, and I was somewhat surprised that he readily and promptly acceded to my request for post-doctoral work in his lab. The work went along fine, with the publication of a major paper on the results. Bogarad even asked me to give a couple of lectures in the course he was teaching, took the lead in advancing me to the position of Lecturer in Biology and, according to what I was told, was then prepared to recommend myЧитать далее...

For the past two decades, a suicide epidemic fueled by guns, poverty and isolation has swept across the West, with middle-aged men dying in record numbers.
Toby Lingle was cremated in a 49ers cap, a Star Wars T-shirt and sunglasses shortly after his funeral at Highland Park Community Church in Casper, Wyoming. He was 43.
On June 24th, 2018, Tobias Lingle put his newly acquired Sig P226 Legion to his chin and pulled the trigger inside his trailer in Williston, North Dakota. He had scrawled on the grease board, “I’m sorry, I can’t take the anxiety and depression any more.”
The Centers for Disease Control recorded 47,173 suicides in 2017, and there were an estimated 1.4 million total attempts. Many of society’s plagues strike heavier at women and minorities, but suicide in America is dominated by white men, who account for 70 percent of all cases. Middle-aged men walk the point. Men in the United States average 22 suicides per 100,000 people, with those ages 45 to 64 representing the fastest-growing group, up from 20.8 per 100,000 in 1999 to 30.1 in 2017.
The American West has become a self-immolation center for middle-aged American men. The image of the Western man and his bootstraps ethos is still there, but the cliché has a dark turn — when they can no longer help themselves, they end themselves.
Guns, lots of them. Guns that could be procured in an hour. A house where a wife did a gun sweep and found dozens hidden. I found suicidal men who balked at installing gun locks on their pistols because they were afraid of being caught unarmed when mythical marauders invaded their homes.
For years, a comfortable excuse for the ascending suicide rate in the rural West was tied to the crushing impact of the Great Recession. But it still climbs on a decade later.
The impact of hard times can linger long after the stock market recovers. A sense of community can disintegrate in lean years, a deadly factor when it comes to men separating themselves from their friends and family and stepping alone into the darkness.
The climactic scene in Westerns has always been the shootout. Now that’s being acted out in a deadly monologue. In Utah, 85 percent of firearm-related deaths are suicides. No segment of the population is more likely to be impacted by these horrifying numbers than middle-aged men in rural America.
The American white man is responsible for enough suicides annually that Madison Square Garden could not hold all the victims. And no matter how privileged, that’s somebody’s dad, someone’s friend, someone’s brother and someone’s husband.
30 percent of male suicide victims nationwide have alcohol in their systems.
Gun availability is one of the tangible causes for the rural West’s suicide rate, and Wyoming leads the nation with 73 percent of its households owning guns, while the state is third in per-capita suicide. Wyoming’s suicide rate has risen for the past 15 years.

Men in the United States average 22 suicides per 100,000 people, with those ages 45 to 64 representing the fastest-growing group, up from 20.8 per 100,000 in 1999 to 30.1 in 2017.
The American West has become a self-immolation center for middle-aged American men. The image of the Western man and his bootstraps ethos is still there, but the cliché has a dark turn — when they can no longer help themselves, they end themselves.
Guns, lots of them. Guns that could be procured in an hour. A house where a wife did a gun sweep and found dozens hidden. I found suicidal men who balked at installing gun locks on their pistols because they were afraid of being caught unarmed when mythical marauders invaded their homes.
For years, a comfortable excuse for the ascending suicide rate in the rural West was tied to the crushing impact of the Great Recession. But it still climbs on a decade later.
The impact of hard times can linger long after the stock market recovers. A sense of community can disintegrate in lean years, a deadly factor when it comes to men separating themselves from their friends and family and stepping alone into the darkness.
The climactic scene in Westerns has always been the shootout. Now that’s being acted out in a deadly monologue. In Utah, 85 percent of firearm-related deaths are suicides. No segment of the population is more likely to be impacted by these horrifying numbers than middle-aged men in rural America.
The American white man is responsible for enough suicides annually that Madison Square Garden could not hold all the victims. And no matter how privileged, that’s somebody’s dad, someone’s friend, someone’s brother and someone’s husband.
30 percent of male suicide victims nationwide have alcohol in their systems.
Gun availability is one of the tangible causes for the rural West’s suicide rate, and Wyoming leads the nation with 73 percent of its households owning guns, while the state is third in per-capita suicide. Wyoming’s suicide rate has risen for the past 15 years.

Госсекретарь США Майк Помпео напомнил, что власти Германии дали обещание повысить расходы на оборону до 2% от ВВП страны, поэтому граждане страны должны требовать подтверждения сказанного на деле.
По его словам, Альянс является очень важным инструментом для устрашения России, поэтому Германии следует понимать, что она должна внести вклад в НАТО и «как минимум, выполнить то, что сама пообещала».

How the Soviet Union saved Arnold Lockshin's life... (7)
So Arnold Lockshin was spared. Not only spared, but at times even coddled.
Previous posts of this series have outlined how the all-pervasive, all-powerful secret political police encompassed my life in the United States. It would be worthwhile to describe these main phases, while adding supplementary details.
All of this in the context of how the American Gestapo operates and what light my personal experiences shed on the real politics of police dictatorship U.S.A.: a brutal and ruthless despotism that runs roughshod not only within America, but which also generates massive imperialist subversion abroad – as it did in the Soviet Union, engineers in Russia today, and not only here.
Here we set out the various stages of secret political police intrigue and psychological warfare against me.
/1/ My early years – attempts to dissuade me. In my adolescence (at about 12 years of age) I started to take serious interest in Marxist-Leninist ideology, history and politics. I was eager to discuss these matters at home, not having the slightest inkling that my own father was himself a stooge of the U.S. Gestapo and regularly would report my growing revolutionary convictions to the powers-that-be.
Initially, efforts were made to divert me with religion. As I turned 13, my bar mitzvah was treated as a major event by my parents' extended families and I unexpectedly received a load of expensive presents. (Wow, religion is good!)
Then, Lorin Blum, one of relatively few Jewish teenagers then living in Richmond, invited me to join his AZA chapter in nearby Oakland. AZA was/is an organization for teenage Jewish boys (see Aleph Zadik Aleph, Wikipedia). This invitation, too, was a surprise, as Lorin was generally hostile and I hardly expected friendly gestures from him. I joined the AZA chapter, but did not last in it very long.
Then, when I entered the University of California, Berkeley in the fall of 1956 I joined the Pi Lambda Phi (almost entirely Jewish) fraternity, where Blum was a member. I left after about two months. I felt uncomfortable belonging to an outfit organized on an exclusive religious-ethnic basis. And Lorin Blum was no real friend.
/2/ Become a medical doctor and get married. In earlier posts, I have described my family's relationship with Nate and Becky Solter, who were assigned by the Gestapo to attach themselves to my Mother (before I was born). As I have described in earlier posts, Dr. Nate virtually guaranteed my admission to medical school - a highly sought after prize. At the same time, the Solters virtually offered up their younger daughter Barbara to become my wife.
The well known, full time rigors of medical school and new family responsibilities would have effectively curtailed any political involvement on my part. Then there would have been the lure of future financial rewards, as medical doctors generally were/are among the highest paying professions. (Why get involved in nasty politics, when you can help sick people and personally live well?)
These ploys were unsuccessive as I had strong inclinations to be a research scientist and was not ready to get married. Of course, at that time I had no inclination of the real motives behind these machinations.

As I have described in earlier posts, during my senior (last) year at UC Berkeley, I began to complement my theoretical convictions with initial involvement in practical politics. Through the multitude of rat-finks – including my own father! - assigned against me, the secret political police had no trouble ascertaining that my revolutionary convictions had only become more resolute and that there was no real chance of their being reversed.
At that point, the American Gestapo could easily have murdered me – like the victims of the Ferguson protests. No problem whatsoever.
But they didn't. Why?

US Coalition Attacks Syrian Oil Transport Boats On Euphrates River

In a huge development out of eastern Syria, where US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) share tense front lines with pro-Assad forces on the other side, the American coalition has reportedly attacked at least two Syrian government boats that were transporting oil across the Euphrates River to the government side.
The U.S. Coalition and the SDF both targeted the Syrian government boats with heavy machine gun fire in front of the town of Al-Shuhayl. Pro-SDF accounts later released photos showing smoke rising from one of the ferries that were targeted by their machine gun fire.
Kurdish media and SDF accounts, along with a number of Middle East analysts also confirmed the incident, which is reportedly the second such attack on government oil supplies in under a month. Turkish media also confirmed the attack, which according to early reports left four dead.
Washington has imposed a complete oil and fuel embargo on Syria, which Damascus' close ally Iran has recently sought to circumvent. The US is attempting to disrupt amid a broader campaign to economically starve the Assad government and further prevent its army from operating effectively.
Regional reports have noted that in past weeks the fuel crisis in Syria which had created miles-long lines at gas pumps across major cities found some relief due to a covert Iranian shipment of oil that arrived in the port city of Baniyas in early May.
The Wall Street Journal reported previously that Iranian oil had been routinely delivered to Syria throughout most of the war, but now "U.S. sanctions have cut off Iranian oil shipments to Syria, taking an unprecedented toll on a flow of crude that had persisted in the face of long-term international restrictions and helped sustain the Assad regime through years of civil war."
Damascus and Moscow had accused both the United States and Turkey of looking the other way while ISIS financed its expansion through the sale of stolen Syrian oil.
The White House fundamentally prioritizes weakening Syria as crucial in its ultimate long-term goal of regime change in Tehran.

US Coalition Attacks Syrian Oil Transport Boats On Euphrates River

In a huge development out of eastern Syria, where US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) share tense front lines with pro-Assad forces on the other side, the American coalition has reportedly attacked at least two Syrian government boats that were transporting oil across the Euphrates River to the government side.
The U.S. Coalition and the SDF both targeted the Syrian government boats with heavy machine gun fire in front of the town of Al-Shuhayl. Pro-SDF accounts later released photos showing smoke rising from one of the ferries that were targeted by their machine gun fire.
Kurdish media and SDF accounts, along with a number of Middle East analysts also confirmed the incident, which is reportedly the second such attack on government oil supplies in under a month. Turkish media also confirmed the attack, which according to early reports left four dead.
Washington has imposed a complete oil and fuel embargo on Syria, which Damascus' close ally Iran has recently sought to circumvent. The US is attempting to disrupt amid a broader campaign to economically starve the Assad government and further prevent its army from operating effectively.

New York City Is Facing A Rat Invasion

Rat sightings reported in New York City have soared nearly 38 percent, to 17,353 last year from 12,617 in 2014, according to an analysis of city data by OpenTheBooks.com, a nonprofit watchdog group, and The New York Times. In the same period, the number of times that city health inspections found active signs of rats nearly doubled.
In the first four months of 2019 (4,612), rat sightings are up again versus the same period 2018 (4,508). New York faces an unprecedented rat challenge.
The rats are running wild in the fancy area on the Upper West side of Manhattan. With the Hudson River and Central Park as borders, the area is home to the fraternities at Columbia University and many millionaires. In fact, the median home value is $934,000.
Rats love it too. There were 3,096 instances of rats reported in the public way since 2010. Brooklyn is gentrifying and with the destruction of their burrows and homes – rats are popping up all over. The most rat sightings occurred in the Brooklyn borough.
The rat population levels look to be about 70 percent higher today than in 2010.

Why then was Arnold Lockshin spared?
Murder comes easy for the enormous US lie, spy, criminal, provocation, subversion and regime change, terror, drug-runnning, torture, war and mass murder apparatus.
Whether in the United States itself or abroad. We will not take up here the CIA's vicious collaboration in all the crimes of American imperialism abroad. In Silent Terror and in earlier posts, we have discussed the FBI-CIA's murder of Dr. Martin Luther King and even a U.S. president – John Kennedy.
In the cases of Danye Jones and the other Ferguson, Mo. victims of U.S. Gestapo terror, their “crime” was protesting the wanton racist police murder of a young Black man in their city and the exoneration of the perpetrator cop. Their “crime” warranted the death penalty. This in the “democratic,” “civilized,” “humanist” United States of AmeriKKK.

My “crime” was even worse. I was - and am – a determined advocate of the revolutionary overthrow of U.S. imperialism and its replacement by a genuine socialist regime. I gave up my scientific career to become a full-time organizer for the Communist Party, USA – which, at the time, I could not even suspect was entirely a fake organization of the U.S. secret political police. Organizing for the overthrown of the most evil system on earth – U.S. capitalism – is a far greater “crime.” I was most certainly “guilty.”
Even after I had determined conclusively that I was involved in a filthy fink outfit I stayed in that “Party” in the hopes of finding at least one honest person within the ranks. When I concluded that there was no honest communist to find, I left (in 1977) this vile appendage of the U.S. Gestapo.
Nonetheless, my “wasted” years in this rotten enemy travesty were well worth it. I had gained important, vital knowledge about the reality of American “democracy.” But I had not yet learned everything.
In retrospect, it is patently obvious that U.S. imperialism would not allow the formation of a genuine revolutionary organism on its soil! To fill the gap, the United States imperialist dictatorship can and rather easily does concoct entirely fraudulent and rather elaborate surrogates (a) to give the fraudulent appearance of American “democracy” while (b) simultaneously operating as a live trap for honest progressives and revolutionaries.
By the time I left the “Party,” I was well aware that the U.S. secret political police had fashioned and were directing not only the “Communist Party USA,” but in addition a raft of equally pseudo-revolutionary “parties”: trotskyites, maoists, anarchists, etc. What I had not yet fully assimilated was the fact that the American Gestapo operates analogously along the entire span of what could be called “progressive” politics – implanting and directing their stooges in trade unions, civil rights and civil liberties advocates, women's rights and environmental “organizations,” etc. This Gestapo control extends even further – to nominally apolitic organizations like Planned Parenthood, advocacy groups for the homeless, the deaf, the elderly, etc. Anywhere where even the slightest breath of progressive advocacy could conceivably emerge.
I have described this police-state control in more detail in my series “Dictatorship USA” – especially post 9B. It merely need be added here that the U.S. lie, spy, criminal, provocation, subversion and regime change, terror, drug-runnning, torture, war and mass murder apparatus is absolutely massive. This subversive (of anything resembling human values) operation embraces some tens of thousands of full-time collaborators and many hundreds of thousands of part-time stooges. Naturally, the exact numbers are not public information; my best estimate that in total the finks, mostly “part-timers,” make up about 1.5% of the U.S. adult population, or about 3 million Americans.

After failed attempts to dissuade me of my communist political beliefs (see “Dictatorship USA”) and actual demonstrations of my willingness to act on those convictions, I became fair game for murder by the U.S. secret political police. That is to say, the U.S. Gestapo could have easily “arranged” my murder when I was in my early 20s – or at any time.
The brutes would not have had the slightest compunction about killing me at any age. Danye Jones was murdered when he was all of 24 years; another Ferguson activist, Deandre Joshua, was just 20 years old when he was killed.
Murder for United States imperialism is as common as breathing in, breathing out: within the confines of the U.S. or abroad. No room here for vapid sentimentality!

Murder comes easy for the enormous US lie, spy, criminal, provocation, subversion and regime change, terror, drug-runnning, torture, war and mass murder apparatus.
Whether in the United States itself or abroad. We will not take up here the CIA's vicious collaboration in all the crimes of American imperialism abroad. In Silent Terror and in earlier posts, we have discussed the FBI-CIA's murder of Dr. Martin Luther King and even a U.S. president – John Kennedy.
In the cases of Danye Jones and the other Ferguson, Mo. victims of U.S. Gestapo terror, their “crime” was protesting the wanton racist police murder of a young Black man in their city and the exoneration of the perpetrator cop. Their “crime” warranted the death penalty. This in the “democratic,” “civilized,” “humanist” United States of AmeriKKK.

My “crime” was even worse. I was - and am – a determined advocate of the revolutionary overthrow of U.S. imperialism and its replacement by a genuine socialist regime. I gave up my scientific career to become a full-time organizer for the Communist Party, USA – which, at the time, I could not even suspect was entirely a fake organization of the U.S. secret political police. Organizing for the overthrown of the most evil system on earth – U.S. capitalism – is a far greater “crime.” I was most certainly “guilty.”
Even after I had determined conclusively that I was involved in a filthy fink outfit I stayed in that “Party” in the hopes of finding at least one honest person within the ranks. When I concluded that there was no honest communist to find, I left (in 1977) this vile appendage of the U.S. Gestapo.
Nonetheless, my “wasted” years in this rotten enemy travesty were well worth it. I had gained important, vital knowledge about the reality of American “democracy.” But I had not yet learned everything.
In retrospect, it is patently obvious that U.S. imperialism would not allow the formation of a genuine revolutionary organism on its soil! To fill the gap, the United States imperialist dictatorship can and rather easily does concoct entirely fraudulent and rather elaborate surrogates (a) to give the fraudulent appearance of American “democracy” while (b) simultaneously operating as a live trap for honest progressives and revolutionaries.
