I just finished 2 weeks of vacation and today went back to work. The cool weather continues, which is frustrating. I wish the normal hot weather would show up for more then a few days.
I worked at the ocean again today, in two communities. They are both filled with visitors and the traffic in these small towns is very heavy.
School will be starting again in a few weeks, so the crowds will begin to thin, as everyone heads home to get their children ready to return to school.
Well lets hope that the best weather is still to come. August is normally the hottest month here, with the average temperature around +36C. September cools a bit, but is still very nice.

FINALLY, the summer weather has come. I have been waiting for a year for this weather. Yesterday was a high temperature of 39.4 C and today hit a high of 43.3 C and it is supposed to remain in this area thru the weekend. I was beginning to worry that summer was just going to pass us by here on the west coast of the USA. It has been very warm everywhere else in the country, but not here.

This Sunday July 4th is America's 234th birthday. On July 4th 1776, the Declaration of Independence was first signed, as "the colonies" declared their independence from England. Although it was not ratified until 1778, the date is seen as the birthday of the United States of America.
It is celebrated here with parades and almost all fly the flag outside their house. The weather is usually warm, so barbeques are the usual fare. After dark, the skies are lit with fireworks displays across the country. It is truly a day for Americans to feel proud.

Today is my birthday. Funny I still feel so young, I do not feel my age at all. Keeping mentally fit is as important as keeping physically fit. One of my coworkers wants me to come have lunch with him. I am off work today and he is working near the ocean. Should be a nice drive, but the weather has turned crappy today. Then it is to my parents for dinner with my mom, older brother, son, grandson and his mother. Is going to be a long day!

Spring usually signals the end of winter here in California. The hills are a beautiful green, flowers are in full bloom and the rain stops. Here near the Pacific Ocean, our winter consists of rain. We only get snow here about once every 20 years, so it is unusual for us to have some days around +25C and then have more rain. The rain usually stops in March, but here it comes again from Monday through Thursday.
I am really getting tired of the rain and look forward to summer when the average temperature is about +36C.
