It is quite normal for the candidate to be interviewed by more than one person.The interviews would then compare notes before deciding which candidate to appoint.
The candidates may be given a test in which the candidate’s potential to perform the necessary activites is measured. An aptitude test will cover areas cover areas such as:
Mental abilities,e.g power of reasoning
Physical quanlities e.g co-ordination
Arithmetical abilities e.g. addition and multiplication
An intelligence test may be used to find out the candidate’s general powers of reasoning. The test will normally be a written one made up of numerical diagrammatical and verbal questions,such as identifying one or more shapes which have common features. Or writing down the next number in a series. Or comparing a series of words to see which have similar meanings. Usually a certain time limit is given for the testee. Once the test is completed it is marked and a score is obtained.
The company may also insist on a medical examination before the job offer is confirmed. This will give a clear indication as to whether the applicant is physically suitable for the post.
Once an applicant has accepted a post, a letter is sent, confirming the appointment. In the same letter the conditions of service will often be included. This sets out the employee’s statutory legal rights and obligations.

Урок английского или спрягаем глагол "to vodka"
Итак, система английских времен с точки зрения употребления глагола "to Vоdkа":
1. Во-первых, необходимо уяснить, что в исследуемом языке существуют глаголы:

1.1 неопределенные (Indеfinitе), то есть неизвестно, пьешь ты или не пьешь.
1.2 длительные (Соntinuоus), то есть ты пьешь и находишься в состоянии глубокого запоя.
1.3 завершенные (Реrfесt), то есть ты либо уже вышел из запоя, либо уже окончательно напился и вырубился.
2. Во-вторых, существует объективное:
2.1 настоящее (Рrеsеnt) - ваше отношение к спиртному.
2.2 прошлое (Раst) - темное или светлое.
2.3 будущее (Futurе) - то, что вам светит: цирроз печени, нарко-диспансер, белая горячка и т. п.

А вот как это все выглядит на практике

"a chip on your shoulder"

[показать] A person who has "a chip on his shoulder" is angry because of some thing that happened in the past. Example: "He lost his game this morning, and now he has a chip on his shoulder." It is easy for a person to get in a fight when he has a chip on his shoulder, because he is already angry about something else. Example: "Watch out for that guy, he's got a chip on his shoulder." To start a fight, men used to put chips of wood on their shoulder and challenge others to "try to knock it off". Example: "What's bothering that guy?" Reply: "Nothing. He's just got a chip on the shoulder." Example: "Tom had a tough time growing up, so he's got a bit of a chip on his shoulder." You can use the definite article ("the") which sounds more general ("a chip on the shoulder"), but more often people use the personal pronoun ("his", "her", "their") to say that that specific person has "a chip on his (her, their) shoulder."







"can't cut the mustard"

[показать] When you are not able to perform at the required level, you can't cut the mustard. Example: "Did you hear that Williams got fired?" Reply: "Yes. He couldn't cut the mustard."

It is as if cutting "the mustard" were some test that you had to pass in order to belong. If you can't cut the mustard, you are not allowed to participate. Example: "Bob dropped out of medical school." Reply: "Why?" Answer: "He just couldn't cut the mustard."

If you don't work hard enough, or if you just aren't good enough, you can't cut the mustard. Example: "So, do you think you will be able to cut the mustard?"
