Хорошо быть Justin Timberlake! Парню все сходит с рук. Вовремя покинул N’Sync и единственный остался наплаву; получил неожиданный подарок от Neptunes в виде песен, записанных для Michael Jackson’a на свой Justified; в отличии от Janet был «оправдан» за инцидент на Super Bowl; ловко построил промо сольного дебюта на любви к черным женщинам, которые, несмотря на несколько другие предпочтения певца в реальной жизни и странный поступок с Janet, продолжают его поддерживать, равно как и фанаты Teen Pop, Pop, Blue Eyed Soul, R&B и т.п. А как еще объяснить рекордные продажи в первую неделю?
То, что FutureSex/ LoveSounds будет отличаться от Justified стало ясно по первому синглу Sexyback в первую очередь из-за отсутствия фирменного фальцета Timberlake. Да и взрывной союз TT (Timbaland Timberlake) никак не обещал быть похожим на предыдущее сотрудничество с Neptunes. Если первый альбом, по уже вышеуказанной причине, отдавал творчеством Jackson’a, то FutureSex/ LoveSounds, скорее всего, зарядился энергией Prince. Не могу не прокомментировать название альбома, во-первых намекающее на двойной диск, во вторых обещающее футуристическое звучание и сексуальность. Обещания частично выполнены: саунд можно охарактеризовать, как современный аналог электро-фанка 80-х, а по части сексуальности в названиях композиций слово «sexy» употребляется 3 раза, а слово «love» — 4, и это в 12 песнях.
Продакшн Timbaland последнее время потерпел некоторые изменения, поэтому не ждите Cry Me A River, рассчитывайте на звучание Timbo/Furtado. Хорошо это или плохо, судите сами, но работа битмейкера здесь крайне интересна и ни в коей мере не является слабым местом. Нельзя не отметить, насколько сильно украсило альбом присутствие хип-хоп звезд. Chop Me Up с Three 6 Mafia официально стала моей любимой композицией вопреки целому пропетому куплету Timbaland. Второй сингл My Love интересен во многом благодаря T.I.. А Clipse очень органично вписались в ремикс Sexyback. Правда, не сильно впечатлила композиция со Snoop Pose. К минусам можно также отнести парочку баллад Timberlake, которые могли бы войти в альбомы N’Sync.
Наверное, неплохо, что Justin не испугался пойти на эксперимент и сменить urban-звучание на более мейнстримовое. Pop-музыка будет благодарна ему за танцевальные треки, любители же blue eyed soul давно заприметили Robin Thicke.
