Dorothea was born Dorothea Rose Hurley on September 29, 1962. Her parents are Dorothy and Donald Hurley and she was the youngest of either three or four girls. She dated Jon's friend Bobby in high school. There is a song on the Powerstation Years called Bobby's Girl, btw. Jon knew her and thought she was the cool chick. She also agreed to let him cheat off her in history class. Bobby left for the Navy and Jon then got together with Dorothea. She has worked at a diner (the one in the She Don't Know Me Video) and as a receptionist at a doctor's office. She spent a lot of time on the road with Jon before and after they were married and even while Stephanie and Jesse were young. She doesn't go on tour with Jon as much now that the kids are in school. She is a third degree black belt karate champion. At one point she was the NJ state champion and ranked 3rd in her division in the nation. Her favorite singer is Elvis Costello and her favorite writer is Jules Verne. You're right... she does stay out of the public eye most of the time.
