As a child, looking up to law-enforcers such as police officers have made me believe that Law
is the backbone of our society. Without it, everyday life would not be tolerable. Over
centuries, Law has matured and has come to a stage where it provides and reinforces the
greatest security and protection it possibly can. Having relatives working in Law-related
fields, I have looked up to them as providers of justice. I see the excitement and
satisfaction they get from their careers and wish to pursue a similar profession myself.
Many friends and family told me when I was young that I would make a good lawyer or
solicitor. My persuasive yet firm approach in debate has made me believe this and now I want
to use this ability professionally and follow a pathway that will allow me to do so.

Whilst having no direct work experience, I consider myself to have the qualities and skills
needed for any demanding post offered in such field. Working for Allders has matured me a
great deal, not only in terms of my communication skills but also as a team worker.
I have visited England three times before arriving here to study, also been in Italy. The
different cultures and traditions I saw intrigued me as I learnt many new ways of life, some
of which I had not known of before. Two my best hobbies are dancing and painting: I am really
good at dancing latino-american. It took 6 years to learn it. At home I take pleasure from
using the Internet for work and play.

Law has many facets, and it is the variety of topics offered in the course that make the
study of Law exceptionally attractive. I also find the history of the legal system
interesting because of the way it has influenced and is being experienced by modern society.
First realised I wished to study law whilst reading a newspaper, when it suddenly occurred to
me that every article was somehow related to the law. I remember thinking how amazing it was
that such a diverse range of issues could be linked back to a single word. This is truly
unique quality of influencing all aspects of life. I sometimes accompanied my father to
courts and was quick to later on imitate the argumentative, critical as well as negotiating
characters of lawyers. Eventually, I decided I would become one.

In my leisure time I occupy myself by playing sports, reading, watching films, listening to
music or meeting with friends as they help to relax my mind. My favourite sport is swimming
and my favourite author is Oscar Wilde.

In the past I've been studying at school, which called English, Economic Gymnasium of the
city of Astrakhan. I really enjoyed studying there because I like to study foreign languages.
The second foreign language was Italian. But I studied it for only one year.

I have given a lot of consideration in choosing a degree course. I am looking forward to the
challenge and stimulation of university life and the career benefits that a good degree in
Law would bring. I believe I can contribute a genuine passion and enthusiasm for reading law;
I am hoping to study at University which presents law as an intellectual discipline in its
own right, one which will allow me to develop the skills of analysis, reasoning and
discussion required to be successful beyond undergraduate level.
