As I open my eyes and look into the darkness,
I see a shadow surrounded by light from a distance.
Moving ever-closer, the shadow becomes clearer,
The light seems to burn brighter:
Brighter than the sun and more mesmerizing than a fire.
I can't help but stare, and wish I could somehow feel the warmth of the light.
Still closer it comes, bringing an anticipation much like a first kiss;
My heart now beating ever so strongly in admiration of the beauty which comes before me.
Soft lips touch mine, and a surge of pure ecstasy shoots through my soul,
For I realize it's my love.
