Global Media Journal-English Edition
Special Fall 2006 Issue on Women and Media
With Graduate Student Section

Articles are being sought for an upcoming edition of the online Global Media
Journal (www.globalmediajournal.com) that presents issues pertaining to women and media.
We are particularly interested in articles that delve into women and media in
countries other than the United States. Articles might address, but not be limited to, such topics as:
a) Global media depictions of women,
b) Female media pioneers,
c) Demonstrations of women’s social activism that utilize media, and
d) Feminism in a global media context.
The editors for this special issue, Theresa Carilli, Colette Morrow, and Jane
Campbell, seek articles from media and feminist scholars for the referred
papers section as well as papers for the graduate research section (see call for
graduate student section). All papers must be submitted as file attachments
in Microsoft Word no later than May 15, 2006. For submission guidelines,
please go to

Articles that do not follow appropriate submission guidelines will not be
