Thou gave me promise never to deceive,
But never known how hard it is sometime to seek,
And thou preferred to lose and then to leave,
Preferred thy giving up for fear of being weak!
I waited still; I didn't start to pray,
Though first I tried to keep thy heart beside, thou see,
Until there wasn't left a single word to say,
And now I wish I could get far away from thee.
Thou made me hate, thou made me never care,
For thou had been as cold and merciless as ice -
Thou've been, thou are, thou'll always be forever.
For thou have got the hell instead of paradise.
Thou are my past; my love's as well behind,
For I could not see that thou were then blind.
