Career that I chose is Licensed Practical and Licensed Vocational Nurses. This job is care for ill, injured, convalescent, or disabled persons in hospitals, nursing homes, clinics, private homes, group homes, and similar institutions. I chose this career because I have benefit of helping people ,And I really enjoy helping people and making them happy, also I can make good money.
Some tasks that I would be needed for this job would be collecting samples, such as urine, blood, and sputum, from patients for testing and performing routine laboratory tests on samples and observing patients and reports adverse reactions to medication or treatment to medical personnel in charge.
For this job a lot of skills needed but in my opinion the most important skills are active listening and social perceptiveness. Active listening important because by giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times helps more understand person. Social Perceptiveness is important because by being aware of others' reactions you can understand
why they react as they do.
The areas of knowledge’s needed for Licensed Practical and Licensed Vocational Nurses are chemistry , psychology and biology. Knowing of chemistry is knowledge of the chemical composition, structure, and properties of substances and of the chemical processes and transformations that they undergo. This includes uses of chemicals and their interactions, danger signs, production techniques, and disposal methods. Psychology is knowledge of human behavior and performance; individual differences in ability, personality, and interests; learning and motivation; psychological research methods; and the assessment and treatment of behavioral and affective disorders. Biology is knowledge of plant and animal organisms, their tissues, cells, functions, interdependencies, and interactions with each other and the environment. Education that is needed for this job is require training in vocational schools, related on-the-job experience, or an associate's degree. Employees training in these occupations usually need one or two years of training involving both on-the-job experience and informal training with experienced workers.
