Compact but packed full of opinion - and that's just the Independent's editor, Simon Kelner. The Independent's decision to launch a tabloid version has dominated speculation about the future of broadsheet newspapers and prompted the Times to follow suit. By early 2004, the tabloid Indy will be on sale across the country and it will have to decide whether it is going to ditch its broadsheet version altogether. In the meantime Kelner, editor of the year 2003, can bask in the glow of increased circulation - with sales up 11% in the year to November.
