Many die prematurely, but not all. “What's Pushing Down U.S. Life Expectancy?... The latest official U.S. life expectancy numbers paint a relatively grim picture for the nation. For the first time in a decade our death rate increased from the year before; 2015 saw roughly 86,000 more deaths than 2014...» (Scientific American, Dec 9, 2016). “Many Areas of Appalachia and Mississippi Delta Have Lower Life Expectancy Than Bangladesh” (Naked Capitalism, Jan 12, 2017). What keeps most Americans alive? DEBT, DEBT, BABY, AND MORE DEBT. (1) Huge household debt... “US household debt climbs to $12.25 trillion in first quarter” (CNBC, May 24, 2016). “Gross National Product in the United States increased to $16897.40 Billion in the third quarter of 2016” (Trading Economics, 2016). Thus, American individuals owe the equivalent of ALL the goods and services produced in the USA for 8.7 months! What happens when this monstrous sum cannot be paid back? (2) Even more huge governmental debts... As of December 2016 the US national (federal government) debt was $19,948,064,697,246. That is almost $20 trillion dollars, and the amount irrepressibly keeps growing. “But, that doesn’t include state and local debt. And, it doesn’t include so-called “agency debt.” And, it doesn’t include the so-called unfunded liabilities of entitlement programs like Social Security and Medicare. Federal Debt per person is about $60,923... «At the end of FY 2017 the total government debt in the United States, including federal, state, and local, is expected to be $23.245 trillion» (usgovernmentdebt.us, Dec 31, 2016). In spite of massive tax burdens for the average person and partially because of gaping tax loopholes for wealthy individuals, banks and corporations – and the huge military budget - US government revenues rarely meet expenditures. So what to do? The status of the US imperialist dollar as a world reserve currency allows the United States to accumulate huge and growing debts and to “print” (mostly electronic) money. This enormous credit and money creation is not sufficient to avoid mass poverty. But – so far – it is adequate to provide some unemployment compensation, welfare, social security and societal expenditures to avoid a popular explosion. A mass popular explosion that will someday occur – in spite of suffocating control by the US secret political police. There are persistent calls by powerful persons in the US to eliminate or privatize Social Security and to further restrict welfare programs. Allegedly the US “cannot afford” these programs, although the US government provides huge tax benefits to wealthy individuals, banks and corporations while the Federal Reserve Bank (central bank of the US) subsidies the largest private American banks to the tune of trillions of dollars. In my banned article “America the Beautiful! Хотя огромную сумму «расходовали в качестве займов для спасения банков от банкротства, кредиты практически не возвращаются...» (Blacklisted News 1.09.2012). Негосударственные эксперты пришли к мнению, что реальная сумма растраты превысила 29 триллионов долларов! (Alternet, 15.12.2011) По сравнению, ВВП США, - около 15 триллионов долларов. Таким образом, банковская олигархия обеспечивает себя доступом к огромным, невероятным суммам по существу государственных денег. Трудно представить себе коррупцию в таком масштабе где-то еще в мире. DEBT, DEBT, BABY, AND MORE DEBT. The only way these huge personal and governmental debts can be repaid will be by hyper-inflation, that is, the catastrophic devaluation of the US dollar.
