May be my idea of the meaning of 'watch' will be interesting and helpful to you. we use "watch" when we look at smth. that moves, don`t we? You cannot say "I`m watchin this picture".does not matter, how long you look at it, as it is still and never moves, but we watch the film or horse races or smth like that.
