THE TUTORIALS:
RIGHT HANDED VERSION
LEFT HANDED VERSION
To start: ch in multiples of 3 and when you have the size desired ch 1.
Row 1 Dc in 3rd st and in all sts. Count your stitches here lets pretend you have 21 dc’s when you end this row. Row 2 ch 3 (this will count as your first stitch) then DC into the 2nd st of the row. Now working on the post of the stitch, do your Embossed Pocket Stitch (EPS), * then skip 2 sts and sl st into 3rd. Now using the post of the DC you just slipped stitched into, work a EPS onto the post. * Repeat for the rest of the row where you will be finishing your EPS by slip stitching into the last st. Row 3 Ch 3, and working in the back row behind the pockets (not the front row with all the pockets) *DC in the two stitches behind the pocket, then the stitch in between where we slip stitched last row * repeat for row. Dc into to slip st at end of row and in top of the ch 3. Count your stitches. This will be the number you must always have at the end of the row for this pattern to work. If you don’t have this number, it means you did something wrong, go back and look, turn your work over, the dc’s on the back should be lining up, if they aren’t then Rip out the row and start it again. You may have missed putting a DC in a slip stitch, they can be hard to see. Back View – Stitches should be aligned Row 4 Ch only 2 this time, and on the 2nd dc of the row work a EPS. Skip 2 sts, sl st into 3rd, Now using the post of the DC you just slipped stitched into, work a EPS onto the post. * Repeat for the rest of the row where you will be finishing by skipping only one stitch and end the EPS by slip stitching into the top of the ch 3. Row 5 Ch 3, and working in the back row (not the front row with all the pockets) *DC in in two sts behind the pocket, you have have to DC 2 into the same stitch because you only have one here, then DC in the stitch in between where we slip stitched last row * repeat for row. Dc into to slip st at end of row and in top of the ch 2. Now at the end of this row you should lose a stitch. So if you have 21 you will now have 20. Row 6 Ch only 2 this time, and on the 2nd dc of the row work a EPS. Skip 2 sts, sl st into 3rd, Now using the post of the DC you just slipped stitched into, work a EPS onto the post. * Repeat for the rest of the row where you will be finishing by skipping two stitches and ending the EPS by slip stitching into the top of the ch 3. Row 7 Ch 3, and working in the back row behind the pockets (not the front row with all the pockets) *DC in the two stitches behind the pocket, then the stitch in between where we slip stitched last row * repeat for row. Dc into to slip st at end of row and in top of the ch 3. Repeat rows 6 and 7
