Французский художник-постимпрессионист Гюстав Луазо (1865-1935)
Гюстав Луазо (фр. Gustave Loiseau) родился в Париже в 1865 году. В юношеские годы он учился у декоратора, друга его родителей.
В 1887 году, получив наследство от своей бабушки, Луазо всецело посвящает свою жизнь живописи. Он останавливается на Монмартре и посещает Школу декоративного искусства в течение одного года. Затем он берет уроки у Фернанда Джаст Киньона.

В 1890 году Луазо впервые уезжает в Пон Аван, где знакомится с такими художниками, как Поль Гоген, Максим Мофра, Эмиль Бернар и др. Луазо стал членом так называемой Понт-Авенской школы (École de Pont-Aven) - сообщества художников, работавших в городке Понт-Авен в Бретани.
В 1891 году Луазо выставляет свои работы в галерее Le Barc в Буттевилле и в cалоне Indépendants в 1893 году.

В 1895 году, после поисков и периода дивизионизма, он возвращается к своим пейзажам, написанным в манере неоимпрессионизма. Луазо развивает технику штриха, так называемую (treillis - решетка), которая придает его живописи мягкость, почти осязаемость, и является характерной особенностью его стиля. В этом году он участвует в салоне Société Nationale.
C 1903 по 1930 регулярно выставлялся в Salon d’Automne.
