Wake up. Evil knows no common sense.
BLACK FRIDAY, UKRAINIAN STYLE
You never know how much you love your country until such times.
You never know how much you love, period. Love is not quantifiable. Sometimes you forget about it as it lives quietly in you, having occupied a part of you where you rarely look, taking it for granted. And then you suddenly wake up and realize that you are - just like everybody else - an unlucky Antaeus.
In the Middle Ages they had a helpful concept: Evil. We use the word all the time, but we don't know anymore what it means. At best, it is Justine from Lars von Trier's Melancholia: she says that the Earth is Evil. But the word has a symbolic ring to it. Good and Evil became symbols for us, for we live in the Age of Relativism. Everybody is right, in some way, nobody is bad. It is their childhood trauma and so on. But blood knows no relativism. And Evil cannot be overcome by simple observation.
We are obviously on the threshold of many things. Nobody can predict yet what they will be. But nothing will be the same any more. Ukrainian wanna-be dictator spilled human blood, blood of his citizens, peaceful protesters. I think we all knew he is capable of that. But we were hoping for a peaceful resolution. After all, it would be common sense, no?
Wake up. Evil knows no common sense.
