Здесь много туфелек из бархата(velvet) и атласа(satin), у нас в книгах часто неправильно переводят названия тканей, пишут типа: на ней было сатиновое платье, а в комнате висели вельветовые шторы.
Это жутко смешит всегда.

Three black satin shoes. The third is the Jubliee Shoe, embroidered with the Royal Crown and initials V. R., with motto "God save the Queen." This shoe was designed in honor of Her Majesty's first Jubliee, 1887.]
