Materials
Ullcentrum’s 3-ply Alvar wool yarn, 50 g per colour – here we
have used the colours Thyme and white
10 g bamboo/cotton yarn if required
Circular needle size 4 mm/US 6
Marker
Tip:
A bamboo/cotton yarn can be used to make the inside of the folded in edge extra nice and
soft.
Pattern
Cast on 100 sts.
The whole beanie except the folded in part of the edge is worked in garter stitch.
Work the inside of the edge first, either with the green wool yarn or the bamboo/cotton yarn.
If using bamboo/cotton, change to the green wool yarn after 4 cm and work 2 rounds (rnds) in
garter st.
Purl 1 rnd (fold)
Knit 1 rnd.
Start the pattern following the diagram below:
Work the rapport x 5 times = 22 cm from the fold, alternating between 2 rnds white and 2 rnds
green.
Continue with green only.
Decrease 10 sts evenly across the rnd for a total of 5 times.
Break the yarn and pull it through the remaining sts.
Weave in all loose ends, fold in the edge and fasten with flexible stitches.
To make the beanie nice and soft, put it in hot water, felt very slightly and put it to dry.
