Photoshop Tutorial - How Do I Design A Vividly Grunge Business Card Graphic Template? - Difficulty: Easy

In this tutorial, we'll be designing a business card using a template from OvernightPrints. Business cards are a visual interpretation of your whole business front, so they must reflect exactly how you want the client to look at you. It's all about target audience. We'll be creating something vivid, colourful and exciting in this tutorial, so that we can appeal to the more creative and artistic-minded, rather than big corporate companies. The text uses an elegant but grunge Bleeding Cowboys font, which is layed on top of a rough, scratched, metal textured background. 1: Designing Metal Textured Grunge Background

• 1.1. Download a business card template from here.
• 1.2. Fill (G) an entire layer as the background with whatever colour you desire.
• 1.3. Add a Layer » Layer Style » Inner Shadow with 100% Opacity, 0px Distance, 0% Choke and 50px Size.
• 1.4. Paste in the 1st Grunge (Scratched) Texture and Edit » Transform » Scale it to document size.
• 1.5. Alter the Blending Mode to Darken.
• 1.6. With Image » Adjustments » Hue/Saturation, make the Saturation the lowest it can go.
• 1.7. And then with Image » Adjustments » Brightness/Contrast, make the Brightness -20.

2: Making The Font Into A Grunge But Elegant Typeface

• 2.1. With the Type Tool, type out the desired text. In this example I'm just going to include the company name.
• 2.2. Decide on an appropiate font size and use the Bleeding Cowboys grunge font.
• 2.3. Add a Layer » Layer Style » Drop Shadow with 100% Opacity, 0px Distance, 0% Spread and 15px Size.
• 2.4. From Layer » Layer Style » Gradient Color, choose the red and orange fade from Color Harmonies 2.
• 2.5. Alter the Blending Mode to Hard Light and Opacity to 95%. Change the overall Blending Mode of the layer to Soft Light..
• 2.6. Duplicate (Ctrl + J) and remove all it's styles. Add a white Layer » Layer Style » Outer Glow with the Size to it's maximum.

3: Finalising The Grunge And Metal Effect

• 3.1. Paste in the 2nd Grunge (Metal) Texture and change the blending mode to Soft Light.
• 3.2. Repeat the same things we did to the other background (Scale & Saturation, ect).
• 3.3. Duplicate twice and make the last one have an Opacity of 50%.
