Texas holdem kickers are a determining factor as to who wins if two or more players have the same hand during the showdown. They are the left over cards after the hand is declared. Since not all hands have leftovers, kickers only apply to four-of-a-kind, three-of-a-kind, two pair, one pair, and high card situations.
