Cross is called the sign of signs. Since the ancient times it was a religious, guarding symbol in almost every world’s culture.
The Scandinavians depicted the Hammer of Thor as a Т-shaped cross; it symbolized storm, lightning and hurricane. A cross was also an attribute of Persian, Indian and Assyrian deities.
In alchemy a cross traditionally symbolized the four elements: air, water, fire and earth.
It’s clear that in the course of thousands of years we have had lots of various types of crosses. Our craftsmen have studied a great deal of them and created
CRAMPON PENDANT – a piece of jewellery, averter and symbol telling the long history of our civilization.
In heraldry the swastika is known as "crampon cross" derived from “crampon” which means "iron hook".
In ancient times the swastika symbolized luck; the word itself is derived from Sanskrit word meaning "welfare".
This cross, turned clockwise as well as counterclockwise, is found in many cultures of various times – on the Navaho tablecloths and Greek ceramics, on the Cretan coins, Roman mosaics and on the walls of Hindu temples.
In Japan it was a symbol of longevity and prosperity.
In China it was an ancient form of "fan" sign (the parts of the world), and later — the symbol of eternal life and the sign that stood for the number of 10.000 which reflected the Chinese concept of infinity. It is also a sacred symbol of Buddhism and Jainism.
