   Fred Swan's love of rural America, its weather, woods, barns and houses coupled with his meticulous attention to detail make his paintings unique and immediately recognizable. Whether the subject is an antique farm truck in a doorway or a panoramic valley view, his work truly "Brings You Home".

Inspired by the Vermont countryside, Fred began to draw and paint rural landscapes. His originals are acrylic on board and he has used this medium for all his work. He retired from teaching in the spring of 2000 to devote more time to his painting. He now works every day in his studio.

Fred's paintings are found in many public and private collections including those of The Vermont Council on the Arts, The Union Mutual Insurance Company and the estate of the late Malcolm Forbes.
