Dead Disco formed in Leeds in August 2005. Following a handful of live dates, including a headline set at Manchester's In The City festival, they went into the studio with Simian Mobile Discos James Ford (producer of Mystery Jets, Test Icicles, Clor to name a few). They also recorded a track for the recent Dance To The Radio compilation. Soon after the band released their debut single 'The Treatment' on Manchester label High Voltage, which sold out in under a week and great fantastic reviews all round, and airplay on Radio 1, BBC 6 music and a place in the XFM and NME radio playlists. Building on this success they completed their first national tour, the highlight being a sell out single launch in Leeds. With recent hype from NME to i:D and beyond, the band have just released a download only single of 'City Place' on Playlouder.com, which has already been added to the XFM and Virgin Extreme radio playlists. They have just completed their first video shoot, and a live session on Radio 1 for Steve Lamacq. The girls are currently taking some time out to work on new material, before heading off on their next tour to support new single 'Automatic', which will be released on Fierce Panda records in August.
