About Love


Love is a word that everybody has heard of. But it’s a word-mystery, a phenomenon that is impossible to explain in one way or explain at all. Not everybody can explain it but the explanations of those who can are all different and unique. That is because most of the time people explain it coming from their own life experience rather than others’. It’s definite that if you love or loved, you can explain what love is in one way or another, either in a rich and full of meaning sentence or in a long and loose monolog. However, not everybody knows how to love someone or how it feels to be loved. For some people love will be as a word forever and they will never experience the emotion itself. The reason of this is that, unfortunately, love is not something that comes when you want it to but something like an unexpected surprise or something that builds on long relationships. That is, of course, speaking of love of two unrelated people, meaning not family. Family love, on the other hand, is special. You don’t think why or how do you love your family. You just accept it knowing that your family is the most valuable thing you got and the closest people to you.

The love of two unrelated people is what drives the whole world crazy. There are two types of people who are crazy because of love: the ones that have experienced love and the ones that haven’t. Those who have experienced it are crazy because they know how happy you can be when you love somebody, and the others are envy and are crazy because they want to feel it themselves. People who haven’t loved try to find love, to force it to come but they fail, sometimes not knowing about it. If never experienced love, an affair or a romance can be thought of as love. It’s very much possible because the feelings are almost the same. They are just not as hard as from love, not as long-lasting, and not as painful at times. Sometimes, love can even be seen as just an action and not the feeling to one, and people live with that thinking that they can and do love.

The unfortunate thing about this kind of love is that it can hurt people. Some can be hurt because of loving someone and not being loved back. It hurts because when you love, you can’t do anything about. You can’t stop loving someone who doesn’t love you back and just switch on another person. That is the secret about love and that is the border between meanings of “love” and “like”. Many people don’t know the difference but that simply means that they have never loved anyone. The others can be hurt because of losing their loved ones for some reason. The reasons for it can be different but the pain will be the same. Maybe it’s because of some heartless person who you loved that just left you for no reason or maybe it’s because of one’s death and you can’t argue if it was right or wrong because it wasn’t the person’s fault. Either way is hurtful but that were just a couple examples out of many more.

On the positive side of love which is definitely bigger, there are many interesting things about it. For example, love is the only feeling that, basically, has a holiday in its honor. February 14th, or simply Valentines Day, is the day when people express their feelings to each other in any way their mind will let them which is determined by how in love they are. The choice is big because the stores are usually full of anything a person could please long time before the actual holiday. The most common way to express your love is just saying it aloud – “I love you”. These words magically bring warmth to the heart of a listener and in a thousand’s time prove something they already know.
