It follows the D.Gray premise very closely. And yes, the Allen character is a girl named Robin, but in a rather complicated way. It's been some time since I read it, but here goes:

Just like in D-Gray, Robin is an exorcist who fights Akuma and has a quirky master who disappeared, but there's no main Exorcist organization named.

Robin is introduced collapsed in a starving heap in front of a Chinese restaurant where Rinali is a waitress.The restaurant owner forces Robin to work as a waitress(!) to pay back the lost profits because Robin scared all the customers away. Rinali and Robin become friends, and the restaurant owner tells Robin that Rinali just lost her fiance in a shipwreck, but she hasn't given up hope. Turns out Rinali entered into a deal with the Earl to bring her fiance back, and gets a letter saying that her fiance has returned and will meet her in the church. Robin tries to stop her, but Rinali hits her and runs off. Robin follows her anyway.

About Robin's true nature here:

At this point we find out that Robin is actually a full-fledged Akuma - he was a younger brother who called back his dead sister, who's now wearing his skin. So, yeah, girl ... in a boy's body. But for some unexplained reason s/he's able to restrain the Akuma side. Oh, and the anti-Akuma arm was transplanted from Robin's master... apparently they are able to swap body parts quite easily.

Robin fights Earl's Akuma minions while trying to convince Rinali to break the contract (in this case the person who calls back the dead person has an "out.") Finally Rinali decides to break the contract and Robin is able to lay the dead fiance to rest. The Earl disappears with a cackle. The story ends with Robin going on her way, leaving her locket/brooch with a grateful Rinali.
