We seem to be convinced that thinking about the future is difficult,even impossible, but then spend much of our lives doing just that-thinking about and organising our future.
the image and the eventual reality are not always the same.When we conceive an image of the future or make a forecast, the situation imagined is some way ahead.time must past before the imagined, or forecast,futufre becomes the present.it's only then that we can compare our previously imaginsd situation with the present reality.if they do not match, we may easily conclude that the image was wrong and thinking about about future is pointless.in fact, we probably notice the images and forecasts that turn out to be wrong rather more than those that prove accurate.checking past forecasts against what actually happens is seldom done; it's too boring and possibly embarrassing, but it might be an illuminating experience.

Why do we continue to think about, forecast and imagine the future when we believe we will probably be wrong?
