Meerkat runs around So funny and cute animal meerkat (mongoose) runs around. Scientic name is Suricata suricatta. Meerkats(suricates) are small mammals belonging to the mongoose family. This animals live in all parts of the Kalahari Desert in Botswana, in much of the Namib Desert in Namibia and southwestern Angola, and in South Africa. The video is so funny for children to watch. Prairie Dog - LA Zoo It is Black Tailer Prairie Dog. The cute animal are eating dry grass. A Prairie Dog is not a dog at all, but actually a rodent related to squirrels. They named Prairie "Dog" because of the barking noises they make when warning other of dangers. Prairie Dogs feed on grasses, leaves, roots, and stems found on prairies.
