Children from one to 100 will love this charming and cheerful bumblebee and flower afghan.
Finished sizes:

Materials
* Red Heart® Classic® Art. E267 by Coats & Clark or worsted yarn:
o 30 oz. Blue Jewel #818
o 20 oz. Yellow #230
o 12 oz. Black #12
o 6 oz. White #1
o 2 oz. Mid Brown #339
o 2 oz. Tan #334
o 2 oz. Paddy Green #686
o 1/2 oz. Jockey Red #902
* 12 small red pom-poms
* Red sewing thread
* Tapestry and sewing needle
* H hook or hook needed to obtain gauge

Gauge
7 dc = 2"
2 dc rows = 1".
Basic Stitches
Ch, sl st, sc, dc.
Notes
For color change, drop first color to wrong side of work, pick up next color, do not carry dropped color along back of work. Always change colors in last st made.
Use a separate ball of yarn for each section of color and fasten off each color when no longer needed.
Bee Square (make 12)
Row 1: With blue, ch 50, dc in fourth ch from hook, dc in each ch across, turn. (48 dc made)
Rows 2-24: Ch 3, dc in each st across changing colors (see Notes) according to graph, turn. At end of last row, fasten off.
Embroider shoelaces, antennae, eyes, and mouth according to illustrations and graph. Attach pom-pom according to placement on graph.
Sunflower Square (make 12)
Row 1: With blue, ch 50, dc in fourth ch from hook, dc in each ch across, turn. (48 dc made)
Rows 2-24: Ch 3, dc in each st across changing colors (see Notes) according to graph, turn. At end of last row, fasten off.
Alternating Bees and Sunflowers, sew Squares together in six rows of four Squares each as shown in photo.
Edging
Rnd 1: Working around entire outer edge, join white with sc in first st in corner at one short end, 2 sc in same st as first sc, evenly space 192 sc across each short end and evenly space 282 sc across each long edge with 3 sc in each corner, join with sl st in first sc. (960 sc made)
Rnd 2: (Ch 1, sc, ch 3, dc) in first st, skip next 2 sts, *(sc, ch 3, dc) in next st, skip next 2 sts; repeat from * around, join. Fasten off.
