Today I learned that
I stand wrong.
I talk wrong.
I breathe wrong.
I walk wrong.
and mostly I sing wrong.
I have had my resume thrown in my face saying that none of "this commercial stuff" matters and that I walk as if I have to win the world in a day. That my canadian accent makes me talk down in my throat and therefore makes me sing with my vocal chords tense. Then (in what I thought was something nice) she asked me about if when I was little I yelled at my brother. I told her no, and that I do not like to yell. She asked if I yell at my boyfriend and I said again, no I never really yell. She thought that was bad. Apparently if you can't yell then you can't belt. Apparently, this is going to be a little harder than I thought.
I think this was the thousandth person that told me I need to relax.
Well, I certainly feel relaxed now that I have to re-think the way I talk, sing, stand and breathe. There really is no business like show business!
