Researchers using 3-D laser technology said the woman who posed for
the "Mona Lisa" was pregnant or had recently given birth when she sat
for Leonardo da Vinci's 16th century masterpiece. A scan revealed a
veil on her dress typical of new mothers or pregnant women at the
time.
