Вот что говорит мой друг Андреас, который сейчас работает корреспондентом от какой-то Мюнхенской газетенки на чемпионате Европы по керлингу в Гармише.
Here are a few impressions from the first two days of the 2005 ECC in Garmisch.
Due to network problems in the arena (they have two WLAN hotspots but the connection break every two minutes),
no uploading of some pics is possible so far.
1) Organisation is ok, with the "usual small" problems at the beginning (WLAN network:) )
2) Prices are suprisingly low and more than fair (beer 1€, wine 2€)
3) Its f..... cold in both arenas, especially on ice level and on coaching zone level (I was an ice cube after three hours spending in the coaching area this morning:)
4) interestingly temperatures are comfortable only 3 meters higher in the media area
5) Chief umpire Mr. Leslie Ingram-Brown is serving small chocolate pieces to the media stuff....very nice!
6) games are played on a really high level (talking bout the A-group :) )
7) there are lots of funny moments:)...Mr. Uli Sutor (formerly coach of the german national team) left a good impression in vacuum cleaning....
the "most ridiculous cap" contest was won by the coach of the russian ladies, closely followed by Anton Batugin, a russian official...
8) My personal favourite for the title on mens side is switzerland. They are playing really cool and clever. Its a pleasure to watch their games.
thats all for the moment...going to watch round three now....
cheers from Garmisch,
Andreas2
