In each and every persons life
there are lessons to be learned.
We find a teacher who would teach us
Who’d guide us through; who’d show us how.
Some lessons you enjoy to learn
Some are just too cruel for us to bear.
But still we want to be the ones to try
Even if all that pain will leave us with is regret.
It’s funny how we learn sometimes.
You’d think that all is ours, will and choice
But let me let you in on a little secret…
Sometimes life makes those choices for us.
And there’s no way to disagree,
The lessons that life chooses for us,
The teacher who life gives us to rely on,
Sometimes it’s just not our choice to make.
Unfortunately I also got to be the one.
The one for whom it has been chosen.
There are no questions and no answers
You only reap what has been sown
My life has gifted me with lust
That now could never be fulfilled.
I now know what it is to crave,
I was shown how it is to yearn!
Some lessons are indeed quite strange
Are they over or are they just beginning?
How much more time do I have left?
How long do I have beside my teacher?
Sometimes I just can’t sleep at night, I think:
"What is there for the likes of me?"
And is it every teacher’s fate to leave
Their fledgling’s to their darkest lessons?
