В американской прессе, в последнее время, плотно освещается использование М-327 - 120 мм EFSS (экспедиционная система огневой поддержки)

В 2009 году шесть таких систем (каждая состоит из двух прицепов - в одном 120-мм минометы, в другом - боеприпасы и другое имущество) были переданы в корпус морской пехоты США для испытаний.
Система включает в себя 120 мм нарезной буксируемый миномёт, который буксируется джипом M1163 "Growler".
На август 2011 года в корпусе морской пехоты США числилось 102 машины M1163 (дополнительный заказ составил 42 машины).
Система с лёгкостью буксируется в транспортном отсеке такими средствами доставки как конвертоплан V-22 "Osprey" и транспортный вертолет CH-53D/E или в грузовом отсеке штатного плавающего бронетранспортёра корпуса морской пехоты США AAV/LVTP.

The battery fired 74 mortar rounds using three M327s, and it was the first time firing the mortar systems for most of the Marines.
