An armored U.S. Embassy vehicle is seen riddled with bullets, most concentrated around the passenger-side window, after it was pursued in a high-speed chase and shot at by Mexican federal police officers in the mountains south of Mexico City on Friday, Aug. 24. Стрельба по джипу «Toyota Land Cruise» принадлежащему посольству США в Мексике в основном была сконцентрирована на пассажирском сиденье рядом с водителем, на уровне стекла с расчётом убить пассажира.

Один из раненных был прикреплён к посольству США в Мексике, принадлежность другого, как утверждается «временно прикомандированного» - не раскрывается.
Высказывается мнение, что в джипе находилось и третье лицо, принадлежащее к военно-морскому флоту Мексики и все находившиеся в машине имеют отношение к программе поставки американских вертолётов UH-60 «Блэк Хоук», БПЛА и новых средств наблюдения и прослушивающих устройств.
"Associated Press" утверждает что несмотря на то, что джип был бронированным один из "специалистов" ранен в ногу, другой - в живот и в руку. "Специалисты", по мнению агентства не принадлежат ни к американской DEA, ни к ФБР.

Другие специалисты утверждают, что "дыма без огня не бывает".
Задержано двенадцать сотрудников мексиканской федеральной полиции, которые как утверждают, были причастны к данному нападению, которое "как говорят" было совершено "по ошибке" в ходе проведения одной из полицейских операций.
