С полей войны с колумбийской наркопреступностью пришла очередная новость —в среду, у себя на ранчо расположенном на севере страны арестован Глава наркокартеля "Oficina de Envigado" Эриксон Варгас, известный как "Себастьян", ставший шестым главой наркокартеля "Oficina de Envigado" отправившимся за решётку.
В процессе проведения полицейской специальной операции с использованием подразделений спецназа убит один из его телохранителей.
Как принято, «Себастьян» будет выдан в США где и состоится суд. Запрос об экстрадиции в США американцами уже выслан.
"Oficina de Envigado"* была основана известным Пабло Эскобаром как структура, занимающаяся сбором долгов в пользу возглавляемого им Медельинского картеля. После убийства Эскобара в 1993 году "Oficina de Envigado" заметно расширила поле своей деятельности. Картель начал заниматься транспортировкой наркотиков, вымогательствами и отмыванием денег.
Предполагают, что Варгас стал руководителем наркокартелем в ноябре 2011 года после ареста на территории Венесуэлы предыдущего главы Максимилиано Ороско, известного под прозвищем "Валенсиано".
