His Royal Highness the Prince of Asturias, accompanied by Defense Minister, presided last 28th February in Cartagena, the main event organized by the Armada to commemorate the 475th anniversary of the creation of the Spanish Marine Corps, the oldest in the world, whose origin goes back to a provision issued by King Charles I in 1537.
After receiving official honors and overview of the Force, Don Felipe has imposed Naval Cross of Merit captain of the Marine Corps Rafael Lopez de Anca Garcia, head of the team that participated in the rescue of French citizen Evelyn Colombo, kidnapped by Somali pirates in the Indian Ocean.
With him were also honored corporal Fernando del Monte, corporal Raul Jimenez, private first class Christian Fernando Lozada, and the privates Diego Fernando Gallego and Miguel Moro, all team members Naval War force that the released and was traveling on board the ship 'Galicia'.
