HM the King Juan Carlos has praised this morning to all the Armed Forces and Guardia Civil for the work they do as "good citizens" of Spain and his "generosity and selflessness samples" and, recognizing the difficult economic circumstances through the country and, in particular the Ministry of Defence. HM the King is convinced that they will know to "get the most out of the resources" that are "extremely care in the use and maintenance of the available means."
This traditional celebration was planted by King Carlos III the 6th January 1782 as proof of affectionate appreciation to Spanish troops after recovery of the city of Mahon after seven months of siege. The king Carlos III ordered the authorities in all the kingdom to convey his warmest congratulations to all the garrisons on this day of the Holy Magi, ceremony called since then "Military Easter."
